Will He or Won't He

Postby mykc14 » Thu Apr 26, 2018 8:33 am

I know we have an ET thread and this may be redundant, but the draft is upon us and if ET is going to be dealt this season there is a high probability that it happens before Sat. So what do you think? Will he still be a Hawk on Sat?

I think he is gone. Seattle is desperate for 2nd & 3rd round picks so I expect this trade and trading the 1st to acquire more picks. Re-make/Re-model.....

Unless you guys/gals know something I don't, then Earl will remain. All news out there that I've seen says he's not leaving.

I've read both ways, I still see it as 50/50.

Yeah, I'm close to this too Bob. I could easily see it going either way, but my gut says he's gone. Jerruh loves to make big splashes and it seems like he can get a hometown hall of fame talent for a 2nd. The Hawks seem to be desperate for early (rounds 2-3) draft picks and this combined with trading down from #18 would give them an extra 3 or 4 in that range. In the end it just seems like the Hawks and ET are ready/willing to move on. I don't like it but that's what my gut is telling me, I'm at 52% he's gone 48% he's staying.

My hope is that by mid-summer he's still a Hawk, he's signed a 3-year extension, and this thread looks ridiculous in hind-sight.

I've been listening to football talk all morning and I haven't heard a peep about a Thomas trade.

Thats probably a good thing? I wouldn't expect to read or hear too much about either way. Most of our trades happen with very little actual information being leaked. I wouldn't really expect for this to happen until tomorrow at the earliest anyway.

I hope he's still a Seahawk or we're going to get lit up next year.

It's just that with the most likely destination being the Cowboys and the draft being held in their home stadium, I expected a little more speculation about an Earl trade. They talked about every other subject under the sun.

The fact that we stayed at #27 instead of trading down could be an indicator that we're moving Earl.

I think they tried to trade down, but didn't get a sufficient offer. That being said, they had Penny rated the best RB after Barkley and were willing to take him at 18 if they couldn't trade down then.
As well, Schneider said another team called him after the pick and offered a trade for Penny, so maybe they really valued him more than a mid to late 2nd round pick or another 3rd.
