Is he a HOFamer? Maybe. Ring of Honor? No way!

I say yes to the ROH. Time heals all wounds. Hutch was the 2nd best offensive linemen that this franchise has ever had and was a key component in our first ever SB appearance. He deserves a spot there just as much as Kenny Easley, who also did not leave on good terms, and as Earl Thomas will once he hangs it up.

His resume for HOF is obviously a little more iffy, but I think he gets in there, too. In his 12 year career, Hutch went to 7 Pro Bowls, was All Pro 5 times, and was named to the NFL HOF's All Decade team (for the 2000's).

Something else to note. Most of us fans realize how few holding penalties that Big Walt was assessed for during his career. Walt had more Pro Bowl appearances than holding penalties. Hutch had just 9 penalties in the 5 years he played for us and just 9 holding penalties for his career, less than one a season. Is it any wonder why some of us long time Hawks fans pulls their hair out watching Ifedi play?

My 2c? Glad you asked:

The ROH is for beloved players, not just high performers.

He was freakishly good, but he played arguably the least consequential position on the field, and nobody that does to the franchise what Hutch did deserves to be honored in that way.

Sure. I'd take him in both. That was a strange period in Seahawks history. Ruskell was an idiot. I blame Ruskell more than Hutch. Hutch's agent saw an opportunity and took it. I don't think Hutch thought that up himself. I think his agent said, "If they're going to be this stupid, then we're going to do this." Now that it's past, I don't care. Hutch was part of a great left side we may never see in Seattle again. We had a lot of good years with him.
