Injuries

PC just said Carson and Prosise are out for an extended period of time AND Brown is going to have a procedure on his knee tomorrow- seems like he will be out awhile... tough road ahead and hard to see them making much noise in the playoffs with those losses.

He needs to trust Russ instead of trying to force the run like he did today.

No doubt. We need to become a pass first team if we want to have any chance. It’s going to be tough without Brown, but if your gonna lose your tree lose with the ball in the hands of your best player. If RW doesn’t throw 40+ times the rest of the way we’re in big trouble- I hope I’m wrong but I don’t see us running all over anybody with our 4th string RB and no Dwayne Brown...

Obviously with our running game down to the 4th string back, teams won’t really have to key on worrying to much about the running game, how do you guys feel they can just flip the switch and have an effective passing game that’s going to be effective without the play action and so forth .... we will still have the same o-line ????

We are not a "pass first" team. Even when our OL was relatively healthy, they were a much better run blocking line than a pass protection line. Not that there is anything to lose in trying it except . . . getting our QB on the unable to play list for the first time. With this OL, the only chance for Russ to be effective is rolling out. The OL is now a sieve when it comes to dropping back to pass so putting the pieces in motion would seem to be the only chance. Russ is as good as anybody when it comes to improvising on the move. Time to go back to the RPO as well, which used to work well for us.

My observation watching RW seems tentative in deciding what he really should do, as far as running or not and because of that he looks slow... now with all the injuries to the running game and others might as well let it all loose and open things up, what do they have to lose going that direction cause the alternative if they stay with same game plan as they try to do they will get throttled....

Dumb/too late question but did Josh Gordon appeal his suspension? I feel like we need to go balls out and just add as many offensive weapons as possible.

I agree with this. Russell is going to have to carry this team if we have any hopes of making some noise in the playoffs. But with our OL in shambles, it's going to be tough. Hopefully we don't expose our franchise QB to very many more blindside hits like we did yesterday.

If you look around the league, the best or most consistent Offenses these days are ones with good TE's or
dominating slot WR's. We currently have neither with our #1 and expected #2 (Dickson) out with injuries.
I think it really hampers what Schottenheimer wants to do and what the Offense was built to do.

So it looks like TE and RB will be a big focus in the off season and since we have now had 2 years in the
last 5 where we have been down to only 1 or 2 RB's, I would expect we carry more than 4 in the future.

Maybe the Seahawks are like this seasons Mariners. Big start and high hopes but the actual product gets exposed in the end.

I never expect 11 wins this year so its a bonus but one we got there one always wanst more

who knows strange things happen

I don’t know... most people agree we were a year away from truly competing for a SB and there is no doubt we had one flaws. But going back to the nines game and the Vikings game, when we were a lot healthier we showed we could beat anybody. To me we definitely have a take gap that we are working against in regards to the top echelon of teams but if we were healthy and had HFA we could have won the whole thing. With our MASH unit we have going now it’s going to be tough, but if we can somehow beat the miners and GB loses we can still get the #2 seed and a bye.
