Adams is no Earl Thomas. Even before he arrived here, his interceptions were low. We're paying 17.5 million a year for a sort of Kam Chancellor type with more pass rushing ability, but less interception ability. Kam seemed to have a better effect on the defense because he could coordinate the entire defense like an extra MLB.

I haven't seen that kind of leadership from Adams yet and this whole break the bank holdout isn't showing me much.

Chancellor was also a couple inches taller and 20 pounds heavier and was a lot more effective against tight ends, as guys like Demaryius Thomas and Vernon Thomas could tell you about.

We're still a few weeks away from it being a super critical situation, but it's not looking good. Hopefully Adams caves and is in the lineup when we open against the Colts, but I'm not holding my breath. At the moment, I'm more concerned with resigning Brown than I am Adams.

I think it is super critical now. Guys more focused on holdouts and money rarely seem ready for the reason. They seem primed for injury and mistakes from the lack of practice and professional level physical preparation.

They don’t seem to want to re-sign Brown rather it looks like they might let him play out his
current contract and monitor his health his year. I can’t blame them after losing out on Kam
when he got injured after re-signing and that’s why in an earlier post I suggested a series of
1 year contracts that are voidable for retirement or injury. Brown would get more money
this and every year he plays but it would protect Cap space in later years should he decide
to pack it in.

However it would be par for the course if they just let him go without any viable successor
in place like they did when they traded Unger for Graham.

That's the problem. We don't have a viable replacement for such an important position, and the Unger-for-Graham trade is a great example. Although I realize that most if not all the starting OL's didn't play, it didn't do my confidence any good to watch that patchwork OL play last Saturday.

That being said and agreed regarding the patchwork OL, keep in mind they won't ever be on the field at the same time (hopefully) in the regular season.
It's a lot easier for a player who is developing or a backup to integrate into a functioning starting lineup than a group of backups playing together for real
for the first time. I also keep noting that the LT was a raw rookie just getting his feet wet because the other LT Jamarco Jones along with Cedric Ogbuehi
are injured. So we had what is probably the 4th string LT starting. It probably wasn't fair to him at this point in his development, but that's what happens
in the NFL.
What I do worry about is the overall depth on the OL. The Center position needs upgrading even when Pocic is playing unless he takes a big step this year
and we have backups along the line, but I don't see any future OL starters that will at any time push the incumbents other than maybe Forsythe if he's as
good as Hutch thinks he could be. Maybe that's their plan - to have starters and career backups waiting in the wings and not have future starters ready
to step up and take that role from those ahead of them on the depth chart. And that seems strange to me that Pete being old school where the LoS was
considered to be where the games were won and lost has never really seemed concerned about the OL and its growth. It just seems out of step with his
other views of how the game should be played.

Fed up with Adams.Seems his rah rah playing for a winner attitude is in the dumpster. pist at the fools in the front office who made the trade without a plan to resign the guy. Sick of guys making a million a game and holding out when its a game Id still play for free if I could suit up,,,
