Holy Crap, the Bears are such idiots. They give SF 3 picks to move in front of them when they weren't even taking a QB and look who they got.

Chicago SUCKS.

According to PFT, the HC John Fox wasn't even told the GM was going to do it until about a couple of hours before the draft.
Seems like the relationship is foundering in front of our eyes.

I saw the film on this guy, he can't throw an accurate deep ball, especially a deep oute ball ends up 20 yards out of bounds,LOL.

This guy has "bust" written all over him.

I have never been impressed by the coaching ability of John Fox and if he didn't even know what the draft strategy was then he doesn't have much say in who his players will be. To paraphrase Bill Parcells, he is being asked to cook a meal with ingredients supplied by someone else.

There goes CAM. I hear he graded out as a RT plus he has short arms, I guess. I mean, if we actually needed a RT we just might have drafted this guy instead of essentially trading him to JAX for a sixer.

When you have a Tom Cable you don't HAVE to draft an O-Lineman in the first couple rounds because he can make them out any big guy with quick feet and long arms...

Malkik McDowell, love him! Team depth! Love it!!! Help out the LOB and LB's by putting more pressure on qb's. Love this pick!!! I am willing to bet John and Pete had their eye on this guy all along.

I agree, Cbob. I think this is year that our QB gets a torn ACL I really, really, hope I am wrong.
The DT from Mich St is fine, but we need OL. Robinson would have been perfect.

If they get Moton, it would be a good pick, or Lamp but I doubt either will be there unless we move up.

Edit:
Regarding McDowell, he gives the DL some inside pressure as well as from the end like Bennett.

There goes Lamp, we are totally screwed. I am so done with Pete and John when it comes to Offensive Lineman, period. There is zero chance RW doesnt get seriously hurt this year.

But, what if Cable can take a raw physical specimen who, up until now, has little to no O-Line experience in his young career and turn him in 2 years into a player as good as Lamp on the day he was drafted?? Is it worth the amount of CAP Space saved over a few years?

That does seem to be our team's philosophy, why pay more when you came have the same or near the same value for a lot less.

Glad Mixon is gone. As bummed as I am about not getting some O-line help I'd probabl just turn off the draft and check in tomorrow if we'd taken him.

So you gamble your FRANCHISE QB does not get a major injury to save a few bucks. HMM okay Stupid but okay. Let's save a few million now and gamble we don't loose 20+ mil when our QB goes down. Hmm this is why every NFl teams defense has no respect for us, because we hang out QQ out to dry every year.

Whoa Tony, I was only stating what our philosophy seems to be, I wasn't advocating it. Believe me, other teams seem to be able to draft O-Linemen in the first 3 rounds and have them be productive if not thrive, I don't see why our team can't do it.

Come on, we ALL know this is because one of Pete's weaknesses is he doesn't really understand the offensive si8de of the ball. He is like the opposite of Holmgren who didn't understand defense or defensive players. It has always baffled me how a coach (like Holmgren) could understand how to pick apart a defense but couldn't design a defense to save his life(or job).

Pete don't understand offense, its sad really. It actually physically hurts to watch Pete have to depend on an idiot like Bevell and know he is NEVER going to fire him and so our offense will always be anemic until Pete leaves, and who wants THAT?? It hurt to watch Holmgren as the Hawks sank into mediocrity. I have warned that the same thing could happen to Pete and company IF Pete continues to double down on the Bevell madness.

You see that is what is interesting to me, without a QB like Wilson saving their A$$ they would all be revealed as the jokes they are. IT snot just Bevel it is the Oline coach as well. What a joke.

If it weren't for cables talents making a mix and match of OL that severely lacks talent into something somewhat usable, we would be much worse off. Cable has been a saving grace of sorts.

From the film Darboh looks like he has good size, and has made some nice catches....Analysts said he's a good blocker too. Could be a good fit.

Both Avril and Bennett are getting older, so it's a good move to bring in more competition on the edges and interior pass rush.

He can play any of the 5 positions along the OL, but played C last year. Does this signal us letting Britt walk without much effort to keep him?

Well, our first round pick played '95%' of the time at Nose Tackle and the 2nd pick is listed as a DT, so I think it's the interior issues, not as replacements for the great two DE's we have.

Rubin, who came in as a backup has been great. The draft picks, on the inside, not so much.

We have one pick in the next 100 tomorrow, the 4th of the day. We've covered a lot of bases so far, but a tackle would be nice. Or as an outside the box pick, maybe the nation's best FG Kicker.

It wouldn't surprise me because that has been their MO in the PC era. Now, Pete says that having cheap linemen is not the problem because they wouldn't play any better if he paid them more. When Pete made that statement he really pissed me off because it showed me that he has no respect for the knowledge of the average fan. Well, every time it came time to give a starter a raise or let them go they let them go, every one except Unger and I would send Graham back to N.O. for him in a heart beat. The lack of production from J.G. is yet another indictment of Darrell Bevell.

I appreciate the success that Pete Carroll has brought here, it is unprecedented for a professional team based here in the pacific N.W. But sometimes I just can't stand his rank smugness.

for those of you (like me) that don't think we draft enough O linemen -- here's a tidbit from ESPN-West -

Pocic is the 15th offensive lineman the Seahawks have taken since GM John Schneider and coach Pete Carroll took over in 2010. That’s more than any other team. But they need to start hitting at a better rate.

We filled some needs, but still puzzled a bit over the way we passed on plenty of guys ranked fairly well.

We've drafted some solid players lately (Clark, Lockett), but this class I think will be under more pressure to adopt quickly.
Takes 3 yrs to really grade rooks. I just hope more than a couple stick.

The other problem is they don't keep the ones they successfully develop to help provide continuity. It looks like Britt will be the next one out the door if Posic is moved to Center. If they don't extend Britt this year it will tell us that's the basic plan.
Unfortunately, OL isn't an area where you can plug 5 different guys in and expect them to play at a high level immediately. It usually takes a couple of years to reach their full promise.

That's a huge assumption that its cable, I can argue without Wilson running around after the oline goes to crap in 2-seconds or less they would look like bigger crap. Also, keep in mind Cable has a huge hand in who we draft and sign for that line, so really going to give him positive credit for one of the worse pass blocking oline ever?
