Certainly doesn't seem like it's something the NFL does every year, that's for sure.

Well, yea, I guess we should get an extra day as the #1 seed. At least you'd think.

Divisional rd games have always been on both weekend days, with the conference championships both on a Sunday the following week.

You guys are looking for something to complain about. What difference does a day make when you already have 13 off? Besides, our opponent will only have 6 off and if we win, we get an 8 game break vs. our following week's opponents 7.

So after a week off playing on Saturday is supposed to be a disadvantage?

Sorry, I disagree. I'd prefer to have an extra day before the second playoff game than have the full 14 before the first.

*edit* great minds, etc. ...

Last year top seed Atlanta played on Sunday not sat. Just saying...

I think 14 days is a very long stretch. I'd be happier if it could be like 11. 14 days and we've seen teams appear lethargic. Though I suppose that varies widely from team to team and dependent on their health at any given time. We win the 1st rd, of this I am certain. Unless i'm again mistaken...we play NO if they beat Philly. If NO loses, we play the winner of GB / SF and none of those teams frighten me at home.

Great minds, indeed!

The other thing to consider is that our opponent may only get 6 days prep and have to travel all the way out here.

I like the Saturday game schedule for all the reasons listed above. Heck, if we could play Tuesday January 7th I would be thrilled!

I felt the exact same way as you two when I saw we would be playing on Sat. If we play the Niners/Pack they will have to play on a short week and if we were to beat them we would get a long week. Playing on Sat is only good.
