If Awards Were Given for PreSeason...

Postby jshawaii22 » Thu Sep 03, 2015 7:21 pm

Tyler Lockett would be the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year.

and after watching that separation he got off the first move on the TD, does anyone else feel that this kid will have Kearse's job sooner rather then later?

IMO Lockette has already earned the #1 receiver job. Kearse just doesn't get the separation Lockette just got and still catch the ball.

and it was perfect pass protection, too. No blitz, but 5 on 5 bowl. Russell, when he has the time and can see the field, he looks just like a 'real' QB.
I know it was against the Raider's 2nd's, but it was the best play of the pre-season.

Not to be outdone, Frank Clark with the sack/fumble recovered by Hill for a TD.
You know, this years draft class might end up being thought of as nearly on par with WIlson/Wagner etc...well, in the same ballpark anyway :D .

At what times do you feel he *doesn't* "look like a 'real' QB"??

P-SPOY (Pre-Season Player of the Year)

Obvious answers:
Offense - Tyler Lockett
Defense - Frank Clark

Surprises:
Offense - Nowak
Defense - Dion Bailey

I guess all my choices are surprises and I discounted Wagner, Wright, most of the DL as they have played at a high level in the NFL before.

I know what you mean, wait_a_sec. He's that dynamic player they wanted when they went got Harvin; they just didn't think he'd be a petulant child. The kid looks like the real deal, and, coming from his pedigree, should be the definition of professional.

Having watched Seahawk football for almost 40 years now, I can't remember two rookies having as impressive of a preseason as Lockett and Clark have had. That doesn't always translate into regular season success as they were for the most part playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers, but it does show us why our brain trust was excited enough about them to draft them with our highest selections. It's about time, I've been completely underwhelmed by the mileage we've gotten out of our top draft picks over the past 4-5 years.
