Some Love For Hauschka?

Postby RiverDog » Sat Oct 24, 2015 5:26 am

Hell, I can't even spell his last name without looking it up. Talk about no respect!

Hauschka hasn't missed a kick all season, including the extended XP's. He leads the league in total FG's made (16), 40+ FG's (9), 50+ (4), and accuracy (100%). About the only complaint I can think of is his botched pooch kick, if that was what it was, at the start of overtime in the Rams game.

He'd be a pretty good kicker to have on your fantasy team.

Always, and for both kickers, frankly.

Good point about Ryan.

I will add a minor qualification for all kickers, at least for those that perform in outdoor venues. In the first two months of the season, the air is warmer, humidity lower, and balls travel further than they do later in the year when temperatures drop so you would expect the first half of the season to produce better results than the second half.

Kicking is one of the least thought of changes in the game since the 60's. Prior to the European invasion of the soccer style kickers that began first with Pete Gogalak, place kicking performance, both in distance and accuracy, has improved substantially since then.

Yeah we are lucky to have both these guys, and we take them for granted till you bring in an average on that cost you close games!

Isn't it supposed to be "Hausch-money"? :)

[edit- although that kinda defeats the purpose of looking a more-easily-spelled nick, doesn't it?]
