Arizona is in for it...

Postby RiverDog » Wed Dec 30, 2015 10:15 pm

...because I'm going to the Hawks-Cards game. My plane flight leaves tomorrow morning at 7am. We're also taking in the Fiesta Bowl, Ohio State vs. Notre Dame.

We went to the same Hawks-Cards game in Arizona last season, and we had a blast. Looking for more of the same.

We're going to try to go to two road games per year. It's a great way to see the country. The game day experience as a visiting fan is neat, too. In Cincinnati, we rode a shuttle bus to the stadium and we were the only Hawk fans. But Arizona is different. Compared to Hawks fans, the Cards fans are so passive you'd think you were at a PGA event.

Anyone remember Irish Greg? Myself, Greg, and Greg's wife. The 3 of us went to the Fiesta Bowl yesterday. Today another friend will arrive, just joined the Shack as seahawkfan80, and will join us for the Hawks game tomorrow.

My wife doesn't like to travel and doesn't like going to football games but doesn't mind if I do.

Hey River Dog - that's so great that you were able to go and Old Irish G was there. I miss that guy and wish he'd come back. And really... the next best thing to having a partner who loves to do what you love is one who doesn't mind if you do it anyway. I'm glad she gets and doesn't give ya hell.

I hope you all y'all had fun. My cousin is a professor at The Ohio State so we watched that game. Wish I woulda read this thread before that so you coulda said hey to IG.

Ok, so let's talk turkey- do we have to pony up to fly RD, IG, and IG's wife to Minnesota now for the obvious good luck they provided??

LOL! Don't forget, we went to the Cincinnati game, too, so our magic doesn't always work.

We had a fantastic time at the game. A conservative estimate was that about 1/3 to 40% of the crowd was Hawk fans, bars were even more heavily skewed by about 80%-90% 12's.

I'll see IG in the morning, so I'll pass along your well wishes. And you're exactly right about my wife. She's fantastic, doesn't like traveling or going to football games but doesn't mind me going.

He met us at the Yard House across the street from the stadium the night before, but didn't go to the game so you can't blame him.

BTW, he's a fantastic guy. I sure hope he's doing well, his last message was a bit concerning.

He didn't say- just a bit cryptic in his phrasing. I'll do the same.
