He went on to say if anyone in this draft looked like Gronk, it's this guy who didn't drop a pass all year & out physicalled his opponents. I could live w/ another good blocking/catching TE.

You're now the third person I've heard that from.
I am so intrigued with this pick now. When I first heard it, he really wasn't on my radar, at least not in the third round, though the position was obviously something they were going to address, seeing as how Willson will be a free agent next year, and Graham is still recovering from injury, and isn't a blocker.
The more I think about it though the more I realize that this guy OUGHT to have been on my radar, it's just one I missed. His growth over his collegiate career cannot be overlooked, and his ceiling, might just be higher than any player we've taken since Russell Wilson.
I don't see Gronk when I watch him so much as I see Jason Witten, but either way, Gronk or Witten...who cares? Can you imagine what this offense would look like trotting out Graham and a Jason Witten clone in two TE sets?
This really has me super intrigued. I'll be watching him very closely.

This guy is going to be our "steal" of the draft. He can block AND catch the ball. I heard his interview on the radio last night and I fell in love with him. His head is screwed on right and I believe he will compete with Luke Wiilson right away and now there is no need to rush J.G. back into the line up before he is ready. One thing that jumped out at me, he said they used him all over the back field not just as a blocker or running T.E. routes. he said they put him in motion just about every play and used him as an "H-Back". Very, very versatile player. Great pick up.

No scoring on day 3 of the draft, I'll tally the UDFA's when they come in (but not today, family time now).

What he will allow us to do (when Graham comes back) is to go to a legitimate 2 TE set.
It will allow us to do some other things such as split JG wide or in motion and keep Vannett in to block, or have him run a pattern. It keeps the Defense off balance and we could introduce some new plays. Neither Willson nor Graham are good blockers, so this addition can only help.

Round 2, Pick 18 (49): Jarran Reed, DL Alabama
Round 3, Pick 27 (90): C.J. Prosise, RB Notre Dame

Round 7, Pick 4 (243) (From Patriots): Kenny Lawler, WR Cal
Round 7, Pick 26 (247): Zac Brooks, RB Clemson
Here are UDFAs connected to Seahawks (all still unconfirmed):

-- Oregon linebacker Christian French will sign with the Seahawks, per his agent.
-- FAU DT Brandin Bryant says he's agreed with the Seahawks.
-- North Alabama CB Darvell Harris signs with Seahawks.
-- Illinois State DE/OLB David Perkins will sign with the Seahawks, per a report.
-- Colorado State-Pueblo WR Deontrae Cooper tweeted "Seattle it is."
-- Western Kentucky TE George Fant signed with the Seahawks, per a report.
-- CSU corner DeAndre Elliot is heading to the Seahawks, per a report.
-- USC running back Tre Madden signs with Seattle, per his agency.

-- Utah State safety Marwin Evans to the Seahawks.
-- Boston College running back David Dudek to the Seahawks.
-- Arizona offensive lineman Lene Maiava signed with the Seahawks.
-- Jackson State receiver Devin Fosselman to the Seahawks.

Rumored connections to Seahawks:

-- Western Kentucky linebacker Nick Holt got an invite to the Seahawks rookie camp.
-- Southeastern Louisiana DB Denzel Thompson got an invite to camp as a tryout player.
-- Cincinnati OL Chad West will get a tryout.
-- Idaho OLB Chris Edwards has been invited to rookie camp for a tryout.
-- Wisconsin Stevens Point DE/OLB looks like he might have a tryout with the Seahawks.
-- Oregon quarterback Vernon Adams will get a tryout at the rookie mini-camp.

Unofficial but, it looks like Bob got Ifedi right (wrong round but right player) then nailed the Rees Odhiambo pick, and got Deandre Elliot as undrafted.
Looks like Bob might have won this.

Actually, after day 1, I thought these totals might creep into the 6's. But nope. Bob, I think we will sign Adams and you should win.

Honored to be on the stage w/ all this talent. Love my boys!

I know nothing about prospects, but after reading this thread, I think I may jump in next season. Heck, even a broken clock finds a nut once in a while. Thanks for all your hard work, Bob. Congrats to our sis too. I think she won the FFL league too. You are one bad a$$ Beeyotch Sista!

Muchas Gracias. I do have to give props to that British guy (forget his name) for his well thought out blogs on Seahawkish drafts. When it comes to fantasy, it seems to be feast or famine for me.

Thank you, Bob - for starting this activity. Twas fun

Niner fans are mean. One of them on the NFL site said with drafting Deforrest Buckner they would be heading North to chase some midgets. An obvious slam on our franchise qb.

Yea, well my response to that kind of trash talk would be that I'd rather be the midget than I would the team that has lost to the midget 7 of the last 9 times or whatever. 49'er fans have absolutely nothing to trash talk about, at least not to us..... unless they want to turn back the calendar a couple of decades. That's why they have to resort to deriding the physical characteristics of our quarterback rather than discuss the on the field results.

I don't understand the Hate from them River. Most of us over 50 were 9er fans before we were Hawk fans.
