Eagles Trade up to 2nd spot

Postby NorthHawk » Wed Apr 20, 2016 11:29 am

From PFT:

The Eagles will give up their first-round pick (eighth overall), their third (77th) and fourth (100th), along with their 2017 first-rounder and their 2018 second-rounder. They will get the Browns’ fourth-rounder this year as well as the second pick.

Seems like a case of paying a lot to move up a 6 spots.

Must have been convinced either Dallas or SF was going to take a QB, otherwise the move makes little sense ( and honestly it makes little sense considering they just guaranteed quite a bit of money to not one but two QBs that they won't be able to trade or offload any time soon).

Do these teams know something about these two QBs I haven't read anywhere??

There are some that think Paxton Lynch is the best of this QB class, to boot.
I'm assuming it's either Wentz or Goff on the top of these teams boards.

It's refreshing to see the Browns actually do something Smart.

Conversely, the Eagles are as foolish as the Rams were, IMO, and it's good to now see 2 NFC teams possibly mortgaging their near futures. Then again, if it works out...:) I dunno. I just don't get the whoopla surrounding either Goff or Wentz. For each of those guys, their timing couldn't be any better in terms of a mediocre QB class. For Stl and Philly...it just seems beyond desperate to do this.

I will say this - it's been the most interesting pre draft in quite some time. Can't recall (maybe it's already been written) when that last time was that the #1 and #2 selections were dealt before draft day. Gotta be rare.

Meanwhile, all kinds of speculation for us. I wouldn't mind if we traded out of #26 by any means, since we do well with late rd picks anyhow.

That's it, the numbers don't add up. These two guys are good prospects not great ones. IF they were Luck, Elway, or Manning, they would have never gotten these deals.
