Even Ronnie Lott admitted Easley was the best safety of his era. When you consider his incredible return skills, both of punts and turnovers he was surely the best safety we ever had to this point. He belongs in the HOF

It's not tough to argue he's the best safety to ever play the game (and that's an argument the other best safeties readily make for him)- longevity is literally the only knock on him.

He's an odd duck, though, because it's not like he was a 1-2 season wonder- he played at his consistently dominating level from the moment he entered the league until he was injured. It makes him one of those cases where it's easy to knock him for his short career, but it's impossible to ignore that a healthy Easley owned the NFL for half a decade (nothing to sniff at).

No question he belongs in the Hall.

This man belongs in Canton. Anyone saying otherwise NEVER watched him play, or is over compensating for something else. It really is that simple.

The only questionable thing is WHY it took this long.

I touted him years ago, and I've never wavered. IMHO the BEST safety to ever grace an NFL field ( and no I haven't forgotten the "old timers", Lott, or current stars. Without him there is NO Cam, Lynch etc. He CHANGED the NFL and its desired traits).

I'm pretty sure we've already covered this but for good measure we'll have another go:

Last month when they first announced his nomination on radio they were explaining that the Old-guy committee and the "contributors" committee (GM's, coaches, broadcasters, all them non-players) take turns getting either 1 or 2 nominations every year.

Easely is the Old-guy committee's only nomination this year (there will be two contributor nominations) so his only competition is;

A) He gets in

or

B) There is no Senior player at all this year. (When was the last time you saw that happen?)

Trust me, in today's made for TV NFL , where the HOF ceremonies are the inaugural big production kick off for the new season A is the only option.

He's in, trust me.

To be fair Human, the only issue with Kenny was his longevity. He hit like he was shot out of a gun, and covered like a wet blanket, I think you could make a case that he was in the top 5 Safeties of all time, in his prime.
