c_hawkbob's annual three Deep Mock

Postby c_hawkbob » Tue Apr 11, 2017 10:15 am

It's that time of year again:

Choose 3 potential players per pick that we have at right now, the first of the three that you list for a round is the pick you'd choose if it were a one round Mock.

Scoring:
- 1 point for each player that we draft
- 1 point for the correct round drafted
- 1/2 point for each player from your mock that we sign as UDFA’s
- 1/2 point for a player you have listed first in a round.

Here's mine:
Round 1 (26)
1- OT/OG Ryan Ramczyk Wisconsin

2- OT Garett Bolles Utah
3- OT Cam Robinson Alabama

Round 2 (58)
1- OL Dion Dawkins Temple
2- S Budda Baker Washington
3- CB Quincy Wilson Florida

Round 3 (90)
1- CB Kevin King Washington

2- LB/ER Takkarist McKinley UCLA
3- SS Obi Melifonwu Connecticut

Round 3 (102)
1- CB Rasul Douglas West Virginia

2- DE Daeshon Hall Texas A&M
3- RB Samaje Perine Oklahoma

Round 3 (106)
1- CB Sidney Jones Washington

2- LB Kendell Beckwith LSU
3- OL Will Holden Vanderbilt

Round 6 (210)
1- WR Krishawn Hogan Marian University

2- TE Hayden Plinke Utep
3- S David Jones Richmond

Round 7 (226)
1- OL Dan Skipper Arkansas

2- ER Josh Carraway TCU
3- WR Fred Ross Mississippi St

* I had to edit this, I had Sidney Jones twice ... the first od which was supposed to be Budda Baker)

I don't think your round 2 and 3 guys are available there.

I really don't think they go OL in round 1. The defensive backfield is aging and injured. I see Melifonwu in round 1. Bowser screams Seahawk. I would personally LOVE Adoree Jackson for slot DB. There is absolutely NO WAY Kevin King goes in the 3rd round.

Those that do well in this format just get the names they expect to see with the rounds being like a bonus if you get it right. There are a lot of 1st round talent that has to move to later rounds this year.
With our FO, it's tough to even get the players right let alone the round.
I'll try to get mine done sometime this week.

LOL, we actually need o-line and as usual, there are only about 3 that are worth mentioning. This is a defensive draft in a league that needs OL.

Really hard to predict this first round this year. Hardly any QB's. Mahomes?

It wouldn't surprise me to see Bolles fall to 26 with all the great D players.

Heck, who knows?

I want the ball and I'm gonna score.. too soon? Thanks for getting this started, Bob. As the reigning champion ;), I'll put my board together soon, but not too soon.

Therein lies my inherent disadvantage, I kinda have to go first ...

I might make some changes in the last couple of weeks depending if some news comes out about injuries/arrests or if we get extra picks from a possible trade of Lynch and/or Sherman.
So here's my list thus guaranteeing these players will not be drafted by Seattle if history is an indication:

1st Round

Adoree Jackson, CB USC Trojans
Jabril Peppers, S Michigan
Forrest Lamp, G/OT Western Kentucky

2nd Round

Chris Wormley, DT Michigan
Cordrea Tankersley, CB Clemson
Jordan Willis, DE Kansas State

3rd Round

Shaquill Griffin, CB Central Florida
Daeshon Hall, DE Texas AM
Duke Riley, OLB LSU

3rd Round

Deatrich Wise Jr, DE Arkansas
Adam Shaheen, TE Ashland
Jordan Willis, DE Kansas State

3rd Round

Adam Bisnowaty, RT Pittsburgh
Isaac Asiata, G Utah
Dalvin Tomlinson, DT Alabama

6th Round

Shalom Luani, S Washington State
Nate Hairston, CB Temple
Larry Ogunjobi, DT Charlotte

7th Round

Jeremiah Ledbetter, DT Arkansas
James Conner, RB Pittsburgh
Chad Kelly, QB Mississippi

Edit: Made a change in the 6th round - removed Brandon Wilson, CB Houston

Jeez ObS, you sure made my job of keeping track of and scoring this thing a lot harder if I gotta start tracking a bunch of changes to people's drafts ...

Tell you what; y'all make all the changes you want but save them for a "2.0 final draft" full version of your picks I can C&P over your original on draft day.

That'll work.

Here I go again...

1/26
Chris Wormley, DT, Michigan
Adoree' Jackson, CB, USC
Obi Melifonwu, CB/S, U Conn

2/56
Jourdan Lewis, CB, Michigan
Nico Siragusa, G, SDSU
Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado

3/90
Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Colorado
Cordrea Tankersley, CB, Clemson
Taylor Moton, T, Western Michigan

3/102
Shaq Griffin, CB, UCF
Larry Ogunjobi, DT, Charlotte
Deatrich Wise, DE, Arkansas

3/106
Eddie Vanderdoes, DT, UCLA
Rasul Douglas, CB, WV
Tre'Davious White, CB, LSU

6/210
Johnathon Calvin, DE, Miss St.
David Jones, S, Richmond
Kenny Golloday, WR, Northern Illinois

7/226
Kofi Amichia, OL, USF
Tyler Scalzi, FB/TE, Texas Tech
Adrian Colbert, S Miami

This feels like a year PCJS could do anything. They have the ammo using 2 of the 3 3rd round picks to move up into the teens. As always, a trade down for a 4/5th round pick makes sense.
Given the fact we will have no comp picks in 2018, I see us trading a 3rd rounder for a 5th and a 2018 3rd.
Adoree' Jackson seems like the type of player Pete covets, absolute swiss army knife.
What about this? Lets draft Njoku, let Jimmy G. walk after 2017, free up some $$ and get a 3rd round comp in 2018. Doesn't seem too far fetched to me...

Thanks c_hawkbob for doing this! I look forward to it every year!

You seem to have a good handle on players we like, so don't make yourself so scarce throughout the year.

I have ZERO problem with a high school student changing his mind about where he goes to school. Zero. These kids are under an unreasonable amount of pressure and I don't expect a teenager to always make the best choice immediately. If anything, the ability to reconsider and change course is a trait I'd like to see out of more kids.

with the word being the Tyler Lockett is doing good and should be back at 100% by the start of the season, I see no reason to draft a WR simply because he's an ex-husky, even if he did break down imaginary record in shorts and running shoes.

We need: O Line (Lamp or ?) or CB first in the draft.

OK guys we're all set. Just got off work so I'm a little late to the party but we got plenty of time.

Nose Guy, dude! Next year I'm not gonna accept your picks like that; that is WAY too much work man. Next time just copy and paste mine to use as a template and then replace the names please.

Zorn, if there are it'll only count against you as a tiebreaker.

Good luck everyone!

My one lucky pick!

With the draft so deep, it was real difficult to figure out which way our FO would go. I thought of and then dismissed Darboh and Thompson, but Senior, Carson and Moore didn't even cross my radar.
I should have known they don't take DB's early unless they are real blue chip prospects like ET.

The over/under for me in terms of pts was 1...and the under wins, lol.
Good job North, Gg & Sis!
Very tough draft to get Anything correct, given how we all knew that we'd trade down to throw all the rounds out of wack.

Haha! Certainly a lesson in humility! Maybe a lesson in futility, too! PCJS always keep us guessing. I started out with a list of 81 potential Hawks. Even out of that large number, I only got one more correct.

Thanks c_hawkbob! How about a contest for the starting 5 OL week 1 in Green Bay?
