And makes Russell's keeps on the read option more productive.

If all the stars line up, ie Jockel turns out to fulfill his promise that made him a top 5 pick, if Lacy loses weight and returns to his rookie form, if one or two of the other linemen rise to the occasion, then this could be a much improved offense. But it sure seems like they're doing things on a wing and a prayer, bringing in guys with obvious warts, reaching for players in the draft, etc. As is the case with each season, it will be very interesting as to how this all shapes up.

Regarding RW, there aren't many teams that have a star backup behind their starter. They are back ups for a reason.

I think we paid off our injury Karma in spades last year. And at least this year we have a lot of aquired depth.

Also, I'm looking for a HUGE leap from the DL and ST squads.

I think the Defense will play well enough to win in just about every game.
The concern is Offense. Can we grind out a series of 1st downs to end a game or at least get the Defense some rest?
Pocic is an interesting player. He seems to have the athleticism to play anywhere, but he played mostly at Center in College with a few games at G and T.
In reading The Huddle Report and Boylhardt's review, he thinks Pocic should play at Center because he thinks he's very intelligent and that's what you want
making line call adjustments.
I think there might be some merit to that point of view, and it wouldn't surprise me if he ends up there next year if Britt wants more than a few million as a starter.
Moore and Carson are interesting additions, but if the blocking isn't there... Just sayin'.

Here's a link to some interviews with this years draftees just to give you an idea of what they are about:

because we would have won it in back to back years . the Niners fell apart after the loss to us in the NFCC the next season no repeating adds to the sting of the Butler pick

In terms of our OL...they have to find guys that are worth gelling. The refreshing thing about this year's turnover, is that it makes a bit more sense compared to what they've done in the past. I'm more hopeful now than before the draft, anyway.

We'll see.

I hope your right Zorny, but I do not think that you are. I think our QB is going to suffer a major season ending injury around the 4th or 5th game. Man do I pray that you are right and I am wrong. All I see with this OL is a patchwork quilt of junk, end of story.

I don't think there's a question the talent level on the OL has been improved, but whether they can form into a cohesive unit to play at a much higher level is what's in doubt.
That's where sticking to one position early and learning it as well as knowing the players beside you is key. Repetition and experience with the guy next to you is the only thing that
makes this happen. It's not a plug and play group of positions if most are learning at the same time.

A nice on Pocic from a link posted on Fieldgulls:

http://insidethepylon.com/nfl/teams-nfl ... han-pocic/

Imagine that; Cable gets to work with a lineman that not only was an o-lineman in college but also comes from a nearly identical system. If he's truly as technically sound as the article claims, he could be an excellent pick.

Interesting article.
If they are right, he might even be a bit ahead of the 2nd year linemen.

Who the f is Arron Donald? At least spell his name right, troll. Enjoy your eastern sunsets with your latest failure of a number one draft pick!

But yes "Aaron Donald" blows up in the line. I'll give the Rams that ;)
