The rookies have already been working out at VMAC. I love it.

After watching Thompsons draft thing recorded by his brother, I can't wait to see what he brings to the Hawks.

I'm not too intrigued by the preseason stuff. Too much that glitters that turns out not to be gold.

But I do appreciate your heads up. You're turning out to be a really solid contributor to our tight knit little group.

Of course, not. I wasn't "arbitrating" anything as there wasn't a decision to be handed down. I am simply expressing my personal gratitude to our new poster.

I appreciate that, and actually I posted at Seahawks.net for over 15 years, however, the place has turned into a steaming pile IMO, and I found this place which is way smaller, hence a LOT less arguing, name calling and all the juvenile insult that randomly get thrown around over there. There are a small group of excellent posters there however.

Most of the people I know from there moved on long ago, I was still one of the original "good ole boys" that still hung on, but I simply am done with that site. I will read but not post there anymore.

We can get pretty rough with each other in here, too, but there's not much name calling. What I like about this place is that it's small enough to where I almost always get a response to my posts. At .net, there's too much traffic and I get the impression that my comments get swept away with the current. I also like the simplicity of the Shack vs. .net, where everyone has to have a catchy cliché, multiple quotes in replies make for very long strings in a post, etc. There's too much clutter. But there are some really good football minds over there, so when this place slows down, I'll poke my head in there.

The mods here, Yoder and Mak, are fantastic, seldom post themselves and as such maintain their neutrality. They're like a good referee, you don't notice them.

Mini camp opens Tuesday. Going to be interesting on a lot of levels, especially at WR and RB.

Kearses salary is structured in a way that cutting him won't save much off the cap. But he has competition from rookies this year.

Darboh i going to be a stud in a year or two.

http://www.fieldgulls.com/2017/6/8/1576 ... ng-on-show

People are looking at Lacy, but Rawls is the incumbent and if he's healthy we are going to be stout in the run this season.

Eee gads, that's hot! But at least it's dry heat. I'd much rather endure triple digit temperatures and low humidity than 90 degree temps and 90% rh any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Um, "here" is Kentucky, relative humidity is 77% ...

And while you may well understand heat indices living on the gulf Houston's heat index for today is a full 20° lower than here in Paducah.

The humidity here goes on from May to October, that is the difference. It's like this every day.

Sorry, I thought you were still living in Utah.

It's been relatively mild here in E. Washington this summer. Last night when I got home from work, the temp was in the mid 50's. That's very unusual for the 3rd week of July when you're only 500' above sea level.

No worries. But gosh, Utah was bask in the very early PI days ... I moved to Colorado in 2000 then here to KY in 2010.

I sure do wish I were back west somewhere though, it can be downright hard to breath down here in the summer. Even at 110° Colorado air is breathable.

Yep, me, too. I can remember Joe Steele scoring a TD in a scrimmage.

And talking about the brutally hot conditions, Jack Patera didn't allow water breaks. What utter insanity! Even back then, my coaches at all levels knew the importance of drinking plenty of fluids. I don't know how that ever escaped Patera's mind.

Pierce and Dressler Halls. We called them the grain silos. I am a graduate of the first 'EWU' class, in the fall of 1977. Prior to then we were EWSC.

I saw one of the first ever training camps in 1976. You talk about fights and name calling, racial epithets being hurled! Every single player was fighting for a job, and there wasn't a core group of veterans to keep players focused on team goals. It was like a giant pickup basketball game, with not very many players knowing or at least having played together.

Unlike the expansion teams that followed after the advent of free agency, teams like Carolina could become very good relatively quickly. The Hawks had to "pay their dues", so to speak, and build an NFL caliber team with other team's rejects. How many games did Tampa Bay lose before winning their first? I think they went 2+ seasons before they finally put a crooked number in the W column.

As many of you know, I live in central California where temps can be 105-112 pretty regularly during the summer months. It does drag on and can get unbearable after like day 10 ot so of 105+Degrees. The hottest I've ever been, however, was in rural Illinois where it was 90+ degrees & 90% humidity. I really thought I could die in that s***. I couldn't breathe.

I'm in Hawaii presently, so I doubt too many of you will feel too bad for me. It was 85 today and I'm listening to the waves crash as I type. ;) T/C will be underway by the time I get home...YAY! Go Hawks

Aw, screw you!!!

Actually, outside of the crashing waves...well, I do have a water feature a few feet from me....the climate today in E. Washington isn't a lot different than your locale. I don't think we hit 90 today. I'm even burning a fire in my outdoor fireplace.

Can someone tell me why the hawks start camp later than most of the other teams? I know a number of teams are ongoing right now. Are we still on the NFL spanking list? or maybe we are so good we need less practice LOL

I don't think we are under some type of sanction, but I might be wrong.
I also think that there are a maximum number of training camp days permitted in this CBA and if other teams start earlier, they may have to have more days off.
But I have to agree that it is difficult to hear about other teams starting TC earlier than us knowing we have some heavy hauling to do in some areas.

SUPERBOWL LOL

Looking around the NFC West it appears to my that there will be 3 teams with racehorse offenses and two with bright young coaches that will think out of the box. Rams and Niners will surprise many. Seahawks look like some old wore out mule.

Final Standings:

ARZ - 11-5
RAMS 10-6
SEA 8-8
SF 8-8

What are Y'all hoping to see/hear in camp this year?

Mine, and I'm pretty sure a bunch of us will say O-Line getting sorted out early. I don't think it will be in the first week, but by the 2nd week I really want to see one unit manning the trenches.

Anyone else see the live TC broadcast on Q13 today?
It was good to see Lockett in uniform even if he didn't practice.
Now the real work begins for this team.
