Coaching Hot Seat

Postby RiverDog » Wed May 24, 2017 12:30 pm

The season is still 3.5 months from starting and already they're talking about coaches on the hot seat. There's at least one name that surprises me...

So which one surprises you? I don't see any shockers there.

they could add the AZ Cardinals to the list --- I don't see anyone of substance. Except for NO, it's the culture of the teams that are failing, not necessarily the coach.

Thanx Dog for starting this thread, it is never the wrong time to discuss which coaches might be on the hot seat. Every single HC mentioned in the article is on my list of coaches who had better turn it around, and quickly. Each coach though has a different goal that they must reach.

Hue Jackson for instance just needs to approach .500 and he is probably safe wear as Marvin Lewis MUST win a play off game or he is gone.

Agreed.
The Browns have stockpiled and used a lot of high picks. They have to start winning at some point this year to show mgmt that progress is being made.

Is Lewis still the coach in Cincy because his price tag is cheap or does Brown have a lot of patience?

Payton has been rumored out the door for a couple of years. I even read speculation of a trade of some sort this year, and his name is always mentioned when openings arise.
They are almost the polar opposite of us with a dynamite Offense and a bad Defense. Too bad he couldn't be our OC if he is let go.

The Jets are seemingly always looking for their next HC, GM, or both.

Sean Payton. Anytime there's a Lombardi-winning head coach on the hot seat, it's bound to raise eyebrows.

And I can't help but wonder if Jerry Jones is drooling at the prospect of dumping Jason Garrett and hiring Payton.

Bruce is gold, I am sorry but I would trade Bruce for Pete anytime.
