Here is the 2017 squad (at this hour)

(1)QB Trevone Boykin: Inconsistency cost Boykin the backup quarterback job. He threw four interceptions in the preseason, including two in the final game this past Thursday night. But he has the athleticism the Seahawks like in their quarterbacks and has flashed some play-making ability.

(2)OT Jarron Jones: He played defensive tackle in college and made 11 tackles for loss during his final college season. He signed with the Giants, who moved him to the other side of the ball. The Seahawks call him an offensive tackle and list him at 6-foot-6, 320 pounds.

(3)LB Austin Calitro: He made a push for a spot on the 49ers' roster by leading the team in tackles during the preseason. He's listed at 6-foot, 240 pounds and played at Villanova.

(4)RB Mike Davis: Claimed off waivers from San Francisco earlier in the offseason, Davis had a strong summer (29 touches, 147 yards, TD in the preseason) and would have made the 53-man roster if Seattle's backfield wasn't so deep. The Seahawks have to feel fortunate that he cleared waivers and made it on to their practice squad.

(5)TE Tyrone Swoopes: The undrafted rookie is an interesting prospect. He was a dual-threat quarterback at Texas and ran for 19 touchdowns over his final two college seasons. He had never played tight end before rookie minicamp with the Seahawks, but he's shown enough potential in his transition to tight end that Seattle wants to continue developing him.

(60)WR David Moore: Another intriguing prospect. The rookie seventh-round pick faced long odds to make the team with its logjam at receiver. But he's 6-1, 219 pounds and ran the 40 in 4.42 seconds at his pro day, so he has excellent speed for his size.

(7)WR Cyril Grayson: Grayson (5-9, 183) is playing football for the first time since high school following a decorated college career as a sprinter at LSU, where he was clocked at 4.33 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the school's pro day. He's looked much more natural as a receiver than you'd expect.

(8)C Joey Hunt: A sixth-round pick last year, Hunt spent his rookie season on Seattle's active roster and held his own when he replaced an injured Justin Britt in the starting lineup for one game.

(9)DT Garrison Smith: He appeared in three games for the Seahawks last season and could easily find his way back on to their roster at some point in 2017 given that the team is only carrying three defensive tackles at the moment.

(10)CB Mike Tyson: The rookie sixth-round pick had a quiet preseason. He played safety in college and is transitioning to cornerback with Seattle.
