We're going to bring somebody else in, I'm just guessing as to whom it may be.
I understand that we'll have at least a couple of candidates competing for the backup spot. I'm just rather amused at the ensuing conversation, particularily the discussion about Manziel's skills, all because we released a guy that was third on the depth chart and never suited up for a regular season game last year. It must be the offseason if this is the most pressing matter that gathers our attention.
Back to the OP. Boykin vehemetly denies the allegations and has made a statement:
12:15 PM PT -- Boykin released the following statement:
"I understand the Seahawks decision to release me. The story that was reported casts a bad light on the organization and on me.
I want to be clear that the story is false. The police have taken statements from the accuser, another witness and me. All of these statements confirm that I was not involved in the physical altercation.
This woman has lied about me and it has cost me my job. I know guilt by association is real. This person has fabricated a story and I am suffering the consequences.
I will let the legal system run its course and I know I will be vindicated."Boykin was arrrested yesterday after police reviewed a video that supposedly recorded at least part of the incident.
