Seems we made the right decision last year

Postby NorthHawk » Thu Apr 12, 2018 10:37 am

Some of us (I can't honestly remember if I was one of them) were thinking before the last draft that Reubin Foster might be an option for us. A lot of so called experts said he was a steal as an early 2nd round pick.
It looks like he's in a world of trouble now.

He's charged with 3 felonies that could total 11 years in prison. He won't get that much, but the NFL will also punish him.

What's with the 49ers and their drafting of LB's? First Aldon Smith who reportedly blew a 0.4 breathalyzer recently and now Foster.

It couldn't have turned out any worse than our eventual 2nd round pick.

The second dumbass from last year. At least our guy messed himself up and is not some felon, but both look like they are dumb, spoiled children that don' t have the discipline to have an NFL career.

This thread reminds me why I've quit paying attention to the draft. The amount of time I used to spend thinking about the draft just doesn't match the outcome. No use getting excited for Player X and ignoring Player Y when X ends up as a bust for one reason or another and Y turns out to be a stud.

I'm with you oly. But it does seem to me that the guys in college who are not only good athletes but good students and of high character seem to more often pan out than those who are only super athletes. I'm thinking of people like Doug Baldwin, Andrew Luck, Russ Wilson and Christian McCaffrey. Less potential problems.
