McDougald is the key

Watching some film on this seasons Rams offense. They do two things.

1. Get Brandon Cooks in single coverage and behind the safety, once this happens defenses run a two high defense instead of a single high. That leads to number two.

2. Once the defense shifts coverage, they pound Gurley behind Saffold to open up the play action.

My thoughts? McDougald playing that single high in the Nickel defense is the key to slowing down the Rams offense. So far, he's proven to be able to fill that role well. It's going to be a good test for this young secondary. If Quem gets beat deep early and McDougald isn't there, it's going to be a long day.
