I’m not sure. Kinda like going back with one’s old girlfriend, rarely works out. Seems Seattle is heading in a new direction/new attitude. Perhaps Philly or SF to join some old teammates?.....

Wouldn't surprise me. Pete's not adverse too welcoming ex players back under the right circumstances.

He has to pass waivers, and the cost for the rest of the year is $4 million if picked up.
We need pass rushers, so JS/PC could be interested.

Would have to cut someone’s salary. Procise seems to make sense, unfortunately.

Doesn't surprise me. That defense was/is horrid, and with the Raiders in a cost saving mode, cutting Irvin is understandable. They are obviously looking 2-3 years down the road, and Irvin doesn't fit in with their plans.

That's kinda my impression, too. Irvin may have burned a few bridges when he complained about the Hawks not picking up his option. But we'll see. They say that time heals all wounds.

Listen guys I want him back too as he fills a need , but does anyone know his stats. If he can return to the 2016 and 2017 days he was 7 and 8 sacks if he can do that we want to make an offer to him.

6 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble. Not exactly lighting the world on fire......

If Mychael Kendricks appeals his suspension and wins it, we may not have as great of a need as you think. And even if Kendricks has to serve all 8 games, he's back in December for a potential playoff drive. Irvin is costly and was never very good against the run, so he'd be a situational player at best, and he's 31 years old, not the type of player you want tying up a roster spot in a rebuilt defense. Plus as I said earlier, he might have burned some bridges between him and Pete.
Any time a former Seahawk gets released, there's going to be speculation that we might pick them up. I don't see Irvin wearing blue and green.

Except he's a pass rusher and we need those. He also knows the system and Pete knows how to use him.
Gruden said the main reason they let him go was because he didn't fit what they wanted to do. That happens when regimes change
so he may very well be a good fit here.
If he clears waivers, he could be signed for less and be just a situational player. The Raiders would have to continue to pay him and what
he gets from us would be on top, so it might not have to be a lot of money, but he could end up making an extra couple of million $$.

If he clears waivers, Seattle can get him at prorated veteran minimum ( if Irvin was inclined of course) That 4 million only has to be paid if claimed on waivers.
( and I believe it's actually more than that number. Irvin collects less if he clears waivers, 3.85 m or so from the Raiders. More if he's claimed, like 5.8m or something. Once he clears, he's free agent, and can sign or go wherever, for whatever).

Had career tying sack total last season with 8, this year, Gruden hasn't used him.... and ultimately, he's a LB not DE like Oakland tried to revert him back to.

Unsurprisingly he cleared waivers so we will see if the FO thinks he can help our pass rush.

It wouldn't hurt. He knows our system. He was a good OLB.

He signed with the Falcons.
It doesn't sound like we were interested as a story said the Steelers and Patriots offered him more money but he gets to play at home for DQ.

Actually, that will be a good fit for him if he can stay away from his "Homies" that will undoubtedly try to bring him back into the crime that he once belonged to.
Wait, was he from Atlanta originally? I think he played for WV or Va Tech, right?

He played for WV, but he grew up in Atlanta, so he's getting a chance to play at home for at least part of his last years in the NFL.

Considering he lives there 8 months out of the year, and hasn't had any issues really since he was still in HS... I think he'll be ok.
