Why is it all about our standing, 7-9 now as I see it. Only will mean a better 1st round draft choice for next year. Playoffs a chance for the Superbowl 2,3 years. We've been there before . It's not all the time about a SB although each season we start with that in mind
I am just going to enjoy my team.

Just 'coz your city is bigger. Any way you don't know anything about our spirit I do and I live here.
We are a young franchise and already have a Superbowl win vs Peyton Manning. Not to mention three other SB appearances . What have you done lately ?

I love watching the Seahawks too, and I intend to keep on doing so (just as I have always done) regardless of their record, but I do care about their record.

I'd love to see a playoff game this year, but I resigned in my own mind that we would not challenge this year so anything above an 8-8 record is gravy.
Looking at the schedule, it will be difficult to get into the playoffs, but there's always hope.
The one thing about lowered expectations is the games are less stressful and a the positive surprises more enjoyable.
It's going to be fun watching this younger group develop over the next couple of years.

Yeah, as much as I enjoy being the steamroller we were in '13, being favored every game and being the team with the target on their backs, I really dig being the underdog too ... to me it's all good.

I care about the record a lot but I've probably missed 10 games max since 1977 either on TV, on the radio or in person. I've seen it all from Kriegs soap dish passes and then going the length of the field at arrowhead in 38 seconds to spoil Derrick Thomas 7 sack performance, somehow escaping # 8 with seconds on the clock. I suffered through the revolving door at QB such as Kelly Stouffer, Dan McGuire and Jeff Kemp, John Friesz,Kitna, Huard, 2-14 with Tez still winning defensive MVP wearing the late Jerome Browns Jersey during the Tom Flores weekend at bernie's phase. I saw the heartbreak of Behring loading up the semis to head south and Paul Allen RIP stopping all of that with a big check. My letter to Paul tagliabue at that time was not suitable for women and children.
I'm a Hawks fan till I die and nothing will ever stop that or make me go out and mow the lawn during a blowout. GO HAWKS!!!!
As for this year and making the tournament yes it's depressing to lose to the Chargers but remember they are still 4-2 last 6 and 6-2 second half could get it done. So lets see but either way i'll be glued to the TV or sitting in the stands Dec 2nd for the 9ers and this new kid Mullen..

I expected this to be a re-build year so I'm a lot more patient than I was the last few seasons.
I want the record to be good, but I'm not expecting a whole lot of wins like previous years.

Yea, that's me, too. I don't get nearly as torqued losing games this season as I did in past years when I felt that we were one of the best teams in the league. I was more excited this season when we almost beat the Rams than I was when we actually beat Tampa Bay in 2013.

I care about how they play, that second quarter was painful to watch. Missed tackles, disinterested defensive players, coaching staff hamstringing their own offense....

How big is that 2 minute drive not attempting to score now? Feels really big to me.

Lockett has this sewed up, like he knows everything before it happens. What do you think ? BTW I meant I don't care about no record onlyfor. this year .Not recommending we sandbag it , or something, ya know.

I am a centrist, I dont like the losing but the guys have played well. Would we have won if RW had not fumbled the ball? As long the guys play the best they can I have to be happy. The Rams are stacked and we lost by 5 after a devastating turnover.

I care about the record, mainly because it dictates whether I get to watch > 16 Hawks games. But it's really about watching the games.
Like others, I came into this season with expectations around 8-8, and I've found that with lower expectations I change how I watch. Instead of focusing mostly on the scoreboard like I do when I think the Hawks are contenders, I've been paying more attention to smaller things. How much promise is Penny showing? Is Ifedi's turnaround for real? Can the OL finally keep DTs from getting in Wilson's face? Can Flowers and Griffin actually be quality starters for a full season? Etc.
As frustrating as it was to watch at the time (that ending...ugh), it was an exciting game and this team is doing some exciting things.

It's kinda hard to fault RW for that turnover, but it was the deciding play of the game. That's the problem when you design your offense as run-first. Unless your defense gets stops and keeps the game under 30, the offense has to play a near perfect game. It was the same story in the first Rams game, although in that one, it was the penalty bug that caused the offense to falter late.

The value of the run game is it takes a lot of time when successful.
That goes a long way towards helping out the Defense and can, in and
of itself be a factor in keeping an Offensive team under 30 points.
Consider only 4 drives of around 8 minutes is half the game. Add
in 3 others of 5 minutes and that's in the area of 3/4 of the game.
Combine with a good Defense and you should win a lot. At least
that's the theory.
