All right, maybe not president (though he could probably do a good job), but, seriously, can this guy finally get some DPOY love? Since his rookie season, he's been nothing but rock stellar anchoring the Seahawks defense and doing it better and cleaner than just about everybody else in the league. I mean, last week he had a digit other than "0" in every single column on the box score. C'mon man! Just feels underrated and underappreciated by those outside of the Seahawks fandom.

I agree Wagner is underrated but he has no chance for DPOY with the year Aaron Donald is having

I heard that Wagner was the first player in some number of years (20?) to have a forced fumble, a QB sack, and a pick 6 in one game. Em's right, no way anyone else besides Donald will get serious consideration. A chance to break the all time single season sack record and being on the team with the best record in the league? No one's going to top that. However, Sunday was without a doubt one of the most notable defensive performances in franchise history.

I hear what y'all are saying; Aaron Donald is a phenomenal talent. I just don't like how the award focuses more on individual stats than the player's impact overall. Correct me here, but does Donald have to set the defense? Make any calls on the field? Reminds me of Shawn Merriman getting DROY over Lofa Tatupu when Tatupu had an awesome year numbers wise and he lead the defense. Merriman did what OLB"s do; blitz the quarterback.
Definitely not saying y'all are arguing the contrary, I just seems to me Wagner is asked to do more from the mental side of the game and is much more responsible for the overall success of the defense.

Donald will win because #1 - He plays in LA #2 the Rams are relevant this year, including 2 wins over our Seahawks and #3 Bobby plays somewhere North of Alaska --

Bobby's merits are more than the future all time sack leader but that's all that Donald does so for that he gets DPOTY but we know who is the more valuable player, don't we ?

At a minimum can we quit saying Luke Kuechly is the best Mike in the game? I'm tired of hearing it. Its not close at this stage of their careers.

Hell, I've been saying that since year 2 of their careers. Kuechly is an excellent MLB, second best MLB drafted that year.

As much as I hate to say it, I think Donald is the best player in the NFL right now. On the defensive side, Wagner, Miller, and Mack are bunched together in the next tier. I don't think I'd even put Kuechly in the top 10 defenders.

Donald is a great player, no doubt but as we saw in the Bears game he can be managed. The announcers talked about their DL is always penetrating, so it can be used against them (and him). MLB is a little different because of the different
responsibilities and general situational awareness not to mention being the "Quarterback" on Defense. Wagner has also played alongside younger players for the most part this year and not a seasoned dominating defender beside him.
Donald will probably get the DPOY, and K. Mack might be 2nd, but in my mind Wagner should be in the conversation.

Donald is great no doubt, but he has a lot more help around him then Wags, Wags is the best MLB in the league and a sure fire HOF. Should be DPY. But he plays in the PNW so odds are not good.

You're probably right that I am not giving Wagner enough credit for his added responsibilities and how much he needs to make sure that he's on the same page as a bunch of young players. I was thinking in terms of individual matchups, because I haven't seen a DT dominate like that since...I dunno, maybe Sapp in his prime? I think in the "disruptive DT" category, Donald is probably in the tier below Tez and right there with other HOFers. But Wagner has to be great individually as well as make sure a bunch of rooks are doing what they need to do.
I'm not sure that makes me put him above Donald, but that's enough for me to see it as a coin flip between who deserves DPOY.
