So, it's coming out again. The stories, the lies (give it up Tate) How does Percy not get tested? At least they're all ancient history stories for the current team (except for Russell, Bobby and KJ and they're not the type to allow this crap to affect the 'new team' -

So if my memory is correct, Percy missed more games then he played with a variety of 'injuries' -- so you got to wonder how many weeks it was "anxiety" vs injury. Man, this is more and more JS's worst move as our GM.

and, of course, we killed the Broncos within days of this locker room incident. No wonder Tate boogied out of town.

I remembered him getting popped with pot in his car shortly after being traded to Seattle and most wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. in hindsight it was a bad trade for sure although I have a bit of difference of opinion regarding his value to the team in 2013. He had some big plays in the win over Minnesota that kept seattle in position for HFA throughout.

But his real impact was in that Super Bowl. His jet sweeps befuddled Denver coupled with Russ's impeccable ball handling on those plays and his KO return was really the nail in the coffin IMO. Denver comes out for the second half with their record setting offense and microwave QB down 22. They kick a perfect pooch kick that pops up in the air right in front of Harvin with several broncos steaming down on him. He leaps in the air to high point the ball, makes about 3 guys miss entirely the second he hits the ground and turns on the jets and the jukes and the rest is history.

If not for his athleticism and anticipation to field that ball in midair it could have been oh so different a play. The cameras panned onto Manning after that play and his shoulders slumped knowing if it wasn't over before it was just a matter of time now. So IMO if winning it all is the ultimate goal of every team every year then having him on the roster for the biggest game in team history was not a bad thing.

As for Tate who I think they missed for a few years I think his rumored affair with Mrs Wilson might have been a factor in the teams lukewarm interest and his subsequent badmouthing of his former friend RW.

As for drug testing I watched the Al jazeera documentary regarding doping in pro sports that most famously implicated Manning in an HGH scandal. I found it extremely believable for a number of reasons but I also learned a little tidbit about the leagues drug testing policy at least at the time of the documentary. Unless a player is in the drug protocol ie having already tested positive they are only tested once a year before the season. They know when its coming too.

Only an idiot would test positive for anything. Their HGH test is so weak according to the documentary that it can only detect the drug if its been injected within a couple of hours. In the aaron Hernandez scandal it was revealed he smoked blunts before every game, sometimes laced with angel dust. The point the documentary made is that Pro leagues want to make an impression they are combating drug use but they really dont want to catch or suspend anyone. At the time of this documentary I believe they said not a single pro football player had ever tested positive for HGH in a league administered test in a league where probably half the players if not more are on it. I know this is a novel but these are the facts

RW already has a legacy that's just fine. He's going to the HOF someday for sure, that's his legacy.

Sherm and ET, definitely maybe but certainly no lock. These former teammates are low class cheap shot artists that should thank their lucky stars they got to play with Russ. He's a better man and better at his craft than any of them.

I didn't like the Harvin trade from the first time the rumors about it broke. If Harvin had the gumption to chase his HC, Leslie Frazier, who was as opposite of a Mike Ditka/Singletary type of HC as you could find, down the sidelines in the middle of a regular season game to read him the riot act, there was no way that Pete Carroll, who had a chip on his shoulder thinking he could turn any and all wayward souls and tame a shrew, would be able to mentor Harvin into a productive member and good teammate to others. Harvin was a cancer looking for a host.

The incident where he got pulled over where the cop smelled enough pot to warrant him hauling Harvin to the cop shop had to be another big red flag. He was on his way to a team meeting and whether or not he was the one smoking, showing up in front of his team smelling like pot was another huge red flag that was rationalized by nearly every everyone.

It still sticks in my craw that I was one of the few Hawks fan that saw through this charade, called it for what it was, yet I was called every name in the book and then some, had my allegiance as a charter Seahawk fan challenged because I wasn't bellying up to the Kool Aid bar, then when I was proven right, there was hardly a soul that would step forward and admit that I called that one right.

Oh, well, enough of my whining and self pity. I got it off my chest. The trade itself was a huge bust. He had one contribution in a regular season game that was a blowout anyway and his SB48 contributions, although significant, would not have made much of a difference as that was one of the biggest ass kicking in SB history.
