9ers won, we have to win the next 2, or we are one and done again.

Not sure if we'd necessarily be 'one and done', but it would make it a lot more challenging, that's for sure. Our chances in the playoffs seem to be dependent on getting everyone healthy.

Although entertaining, the Rams-Niners game last night wasn't all that impactful for us as we were going to have to beat them next week anyway. If anything it helps us in that it improves our strength of victory margin over the Packers and Saints should we end up in a 3 way tie for HFA.

I'm pretty concerned about our injury situation. So far, it sounds like we're down Duane Brown, Clowney, Diggs, Griffen, and Kendricks for today's game. The good news is that neither Ziggy or Bobby appeared on the injury report.

If we win today, we'll have to root for the Packers to knock off the Vikings tomorrow night as that scenario, ie a 3 way tie with us, GB, and the Saints, would put us in line for HFA should we beat the Niners next Sunday. The Niners will be playing for HFA as well.

Even if the Niners had lost we'd need these last 2 games.

The game was all about 9ers and Rams . Rams become second team in last ten years to back up a super bowl appearance with no playoffs . As for the 9ers it kept them alive for the 1. It also had to be another huge confidence boost coming off a very inconsistent stretch. They beat an opponent that flattened Seattle a couple of weeks ago. I’ll be interested as I ever have been in my team to see how this plays out starting with trying to hold serve later today. 11-5 is as possible as 13-3.

Doing well in the playoffs is often a matter of team health. It's a game of attrition at the end of the year.
The Ravens don't have anyone on the shelf, and look how well they are playing and the 49ers aren't missing
many key players, either. It shows our lack of quality depth at this point and it wouldn't surprise me if the
Cardinals won today considering the starters that won't be playing.
But that's the way it goes in the NFL, and it's a major reason I'm against adding games to the season. It
just waters down the quality of play across the league and gives a decided advantage to those teams that
managed to stay healthy or get healthy at the right time. I think that's part of why JS and PC want a younger
team. They heal faster and aren't as yet as beat up as many long term veterans.

If I'm a serious Niners fan, I wouldn't be too enthralled with their performance last night. Their vaunted defense gave up nearly 400 yards of offense, never getting Goff on the ground while Garappolo was sacked 6 times. They were very lucky to convert on two straight 3rd and 16's, a blown coverage accounting for the pivotal play that got them in FG range. They're going to be going into the teeth of the 12th man next week and will need to play better than they have the past two weeks. They may have peaked early.

I'm a little more optimistic today than some of my cohorts. Arizona's defense is horrible. As long as we don't turn the ball over or commit stupid penalties, I think we'll be fine.

Next week is a playoff game, period. Huge stakes. This is where you find out how much steel your team has in them.

Garapalo tends to be a game manager type of QB but he is as good as anyone at putting the ball on the money with rushers in his face.
