What do you guys see as to why the hawks seem to be not as invincible at home anymore, they lose Sunday and they will be .500 at home this year, I remember even when the hawks weren’t that great, they would more often then not crush teams at home . Something about playing at home they could even play poorly and still win... not anymore ..

I started seeing this trend a year or so ago where they struggled at home and started uncharacteristic losing at home.

That's easy; we're not as good a defensive team. A dominating defense plus the disruption the 12th man provides = superior home field advantage.

That's been a point of contention with a number of my buddies that attend games at the Clink at least a couple times a season. In general, the crowd is more passive, not nearly as enthusiastic as it was during the LOB era. Some speculate that it could be due to the exponential increase in ticket prices....a decent seat at next week's Niners game will run you $500 on the secondary market...that has caused a shift in the average age/class of a typical fan to skew to the older, more affluent, contented, passive type of person being in attendance. My buddy once suggested that we start giving out free tickets to all the inmates in state prisons and mental wards.

But I do agree with CBob, that the biggest reason is that we don't have that snot knocker-crotch grabbing team that we once had. It's like we stopped playing AC/DC and started playing Beethoven on the stadium PA.
