Seahawks TE Greg Olsen retires, begins full-time broadcasting career

Olsen ends his career ranking fifth among all tight ends in the Super Bowl era with 8,683 receiving yards and 742 receptions. His 60 career touchdown catches ranks eight among tight ends. He is also the Carolina franchise leader among tight ends for receiving yards (6,463), receptions (524) and games with 100 receiving yards (10).

TE is a tough position for the hall traditionally, but with the modern use of the position that could be changing. I'd be surprised if went right in, but maybe eventually.

I agree. He has some pretty stiff competition in Antonio Gates, Jason Whitten, and Rob Gronkowski, all of whom will likely go in before he does, then comes Travis Kelce a few years later. I can't see him getting in.

Olsen gave us solid play this year. A consummate professional and one of the great TEs to play the game.

I hope that his experience and knowledge of the finer points of the game were absorbed by the younger TEs on this team.
That could be his legacy here.
