Sounds like a deal proposed by the NFL.

It does sound like something the NFL wanted done.
Next up for the San Francisco 49ers... drafting Michael Sam.

Now who was it telling me there was no way Martin would be back in the league before Incognito? ...

Does surprise how active the Niners are being with their picks ( though I think they had a slew of extra picks. To use) obviously Harbaugh is familiar with Martin, and saw a value there. This move makes sense ( depending on the round of the pick) not like they other WTF decision.....

Shefter says it's a 7th round pick in 2015 if he's on the roster on opening day.
Sweet deal for the 9ers if he pans out.

Guy needed a hug, and what better place to provide that for him.

Kidding.

Anyway, I don't see much significance here beyond the high profile investigation that went with Martin. So far, I don't see any of the 49ers' FA moves as anything of real significance. Either way, I still see us as having the edge for 2014, since at the end of the day we still have the better QB - and coach.
