PFF Player Grades/Rankings Ahead of Week 10

Postby RiverDog » Wed Nov 08, 2023 8:01 am

With nothing better to do, I decided to list our players according to their PFF rating/ranking along with the league's top rated players and a couple of notable ex-Seahawks prior to this week's games.

Quarterback Geno Smith 74.2, #14 . #1 is Josh Allen, Russell Wilson is #17.

Wide Receiver Jake Bobo 79.3, T-#17. Tyler Locket, 77.4, #27. DK Metcalf, 75.1, #33. JSN, 60.3, T-#80. Tyreek Hill is the #1 ranked WR.

RB/HB Kenneth Walker, 72.0, T-#18. Zach Charbonnet, 71.8, #20. Derrick Henry is ranked #1.

Tight End Noah Fant, 72.7, T-#8. Will Dissly, 68.9, T-#17. Colby Parkinson, 62.9, #27. George Kittle and Travis Kelce are ranked #1 and #2 respectively.

Center Evan Brown, 59.4, #24. Drew Dalman of the Falcons is ranked #1, Jason Kelce #2. Ethan Pocic is ranked #8.

Guard Anthony Bradford, 63.0, #32. Damien Lewis, 59.2, #41.Phil Haynes, 52.0, #61. Kevin Dotson of the Rams is ranked #1.

Tackle Stone Forsythe, 62.5, #41. Charles Cross, 58.3, #54. Jake Curhan, 55.7, #57. Christian Darrisaw of the Vikings is ranked #1.

Cornerback Devon Witherspoon, 80.2, #13. Tre Brown, 75.7, #16. Michael Jackson, 71.9, #24. Tariq Woolen, 62.0, #61. DJ Reed of the Jets is ranked #1.

Safeties Jamal Adams, 65.3, #38. Julian Love, 62.2, #53. Quandre Diggs, 58.8, T-#63. Jevon Holland of Miami is ranked #1.

Linebackers Bobby Wagner, 86.6, #6. Jordyn Brooks, 70.7, #38. DeMario of the Saints is ranked #1.

Interior DL Lenord Williams, 68.7, T-#31. Mario Edwards, 68.1, #36. Jarron Reed, 60.4, T-#60. DreMont Jones, 53.0, #92. Dexter Lawrence of the Giants is ranked #1.

Edge Boye Mafe, 81.5, #18. Uchenna Nwosu, 68.5, #49. Derrick Hall, 56.7, #87. Darrell Taylor, 47.1, #101. Myles Garrett, Nick Bosa, and Maxx Crosby are ranked #1, 2, and 3 respectively.

It's important to note that the position rankings can be quite deceptive. For example, there's only 32 starting quarterbacks and 32 starting centers while other positions have 3 or 4 players that either start or get significant playing time. So for example, Geno's #14 ranking puts him a little above average. Evan Brown's #24 puts him in the bottom 1/3. Witherspoon's #13 is very good. Bobby's #6 is excellent. So is Noah Fant's #8. Derrick Hall's #87 is disappointing. DreMont Jones # 92 and Darrell Taylor's #101 sucks.

How can Geno have a #3 ranking if he's ranked #14?

Ahh, sorry about that. I'll correct it. Geno is the #14 ranked QB.

I think that's about right for Geno.
Who are the two ranked above and the two ranked below him? For me it's interesting to see the company he keeps so to speak. It would give us an idea of what to expect to pay him (his contract salary or cut him and try to renegotiate a more reasonable figure) roughly based on his peers.

It doesn't copy and paste well, so I'll transpose them, meaning that I could make a mistake like I did in the OP (since corrected). Here's all the QB's graded and ranked by PFF. I'm not sure what their minimum is as you'll note that Will Levis does not appear on the list:

1. Josh Allen
2. Lamar Jackson
3. Goff
4. Tua
5. Mahomes
6. Kirk Cousins
7. Trevor Lawrence
8. Stafford
9. Dak
10. Jalen Hurts
11. CJ Stroud
12. Joe Burrow
13. Justin Herbert
14. Geno
15. Mayfield
16. Justin Fields
17. Russell Wilson
18. Brock Purdy
19. Tannehill
20. Derek Carr
21. Jordan Love
22. Deshaun Watson
23. Kenny Pickett
24. Tyrod Taylor
25. Sam Howell
26. Joshua Dobbs
27. Jimmy G.
28. Daniel Jones
29. Tyson Baget (Bears)
30. Zach Wilson
31. Mac Jones
32. Anthony Richardson
33. Gardner Minshew
34. Bryce Young
35. Desmond Ridder
36. P.J. Walker
