Geno a gametme decision

Could see Drew Lock starting Sunday:

Bob Condotta
@bcondotta
Pete Carroll essentially calls Geno Smith as a gametime decision.

Yeah, I saw that. And I also noticed this statement from Bob Condetta:

Carroll says they gave Smith day off to rest groin. Says they’ll take it up to gametime. But that could also be team just being intentionally vague since he had to be listed as something.

Do we believe Pete? Or do Pete and John want to test he water on Lock and if he sucks, tank the rest of the season to position for a QB in the next draft?

We aren't going anywhere anyway, so let's see if Lock has anything to offer in our Offense.

Well we just elevated Sean Mannion from the practice squad so I wouldn't be surprised to see Lock and Mannion for the game.

It doesn't matter who is our QB, its NOT going to be pretty, again.

Geno didn't practice yesterday, so it's a near certainty that Lock will get the start tomorrow.

Actually, this is the perfect opportunity to see what we have with Lock. Put him in against what is arguably the best team in the league driving to get the #1 seed and a first round bye while we still have a viable shot at making the playoffs. If he/we pull off the upset or at least stay in the game, then maybe we have something.

Both Walker and Charbonnet are expected to play.

It's official: Geno is inactive today:

Geno Smith inactive for Seahawks against 49ers

Drew Lock is set to make his first start for the Seahawks since being acquired as part of the trade that sent Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.
