This is some news we all have been waiting for. He was the 13th rated LB in free agency on NFL.com, and was thought of as a player who could really break out this year. He has some past warts though, as explained in the 2nd link.

Yup. ASF got his linebacker, and a good one at that. PFF had Dodson as the #3 linebacker in coverage, #11 in run defense, and #1 overall.

This likely explains why we didn't make a bigger push for Patrick Queen. He's just the right age, 25 years old, just hitting his prime and can be part of a long term rebuild.

I think they weren't going to break the bank at LB even if they really liked Queen. No way they spend $41 million for 3 years at LB.

I like the signing though; I young guy with upside who just came off a 10-game stint of starting and showing significant improvement is the kind of move you want to see.

Excellent, hope they can reel him in. From what I read last night, he was a preferred target to pair with Dodson. If they can get him, it will be a great week for JS given the circumstances.

Nice, a good LB is needed to make the good line work. Hard for a D-line to measured well with no killer LB back there to take advantage of what they do.

The Seahawks signed Jerome Baker.
1 year 7 Million. Some of that is probably bonus money and maybe some other incentives (my guess).
According to PFT.

He doesn't count against the Compensatory formula because of how he was released by the Dolphins.

Excellent news!

Yeah, he had 1 year left on a deal that was paying about $13 million a year and was released by the Dolphins and essentially replaced by Jordyn Brooks. So looks like Baker took a 1 year "prove it" deal with the Seahawks and will look for a bigger payday next season.

Right on! Decent week of free agency.
