Deal redone, 2 years, $30MM, max of $34MM. Should free around $13MM of cap space.

Yep, saw that. Good for him. Lockett is destined to be the #2 Seahawk receiver all time behind Largent. He had to overcome one of the most gruesome injuries an athlete can suffer. He should be a slam dunk ROH inductee.

Glad to see it. He is not as dynamic as he was, but he is very clever and runs great routes. He will be difficult to replace just for his reliability. Smith-Njigba is a smart route runner, so I am seeing him as Lockett's heir apparent, but I would like to see a late pick for a WR. Luke McCaffrey is likely to be available in later rounds and has ability, smarts, and toughness.

Late pick, maybe. But no more 1st or 2nd day picks for a WR, at least not for a while. We already have 3 solid starters in addition to Lockett. And what the hell ever happened to Eskridge?

We just redid Dee Eskridge too, little under a mil cap savings. Seems we're making room for something considerable beyond the draft.

If you're asking about his roster status, not only is Eskridge still on the roster but they just restructured his contract to save a couple hundred thousand dollars. That suggests they won't release him, I'd think.

If Trader John gets 10+ picks, then I wouldn't mind seeing a gamble on a WR in the draft, but with the top 4 of DK, Lockett, JSN, and Bobo, the only WR worth gambling on is a ST star who just happens to play WR.

And add to that $4MM cap space save by cutting Nick Belore....puts us round $58MM+ gross cap space.

best news I have heard or read all day. I cannot imagine Lockett NOT being a Seahawk.

Lockett is the current Mr. Seahawk.

Now we can move to sign Big Len and not waste that 2nd round pick. Then maybe go after a FA backer.

If Bobby doesn't return.

I assume that they had a gentleman's agreement with Leonard and his agent before the trade similar to the understanding they had with Adams prior to that trade. If not, it was a huge, unwise gamble.

I haven’t heard much about Williams and wonder if he wants to test FA. It wouldn’t be surprising if he considers our team to be rebuilding and he may want to catch on with a team that has a good chance to win the SB - or at least a better chance than a rebuilding team.

We've cleared some pretty good cap space. They just released Nick Bellore today. My guess is that they'll make Williams a damn good offer as losing him would be a black eye for JS. He's one of the few current defensive players on our roster that's worth making a decent effort to retain.

I agree about his value, but I wonder if he puts more importance on winning. He’s going to make a lot of money in any case and maybe the deciding factor is a better chance at a ring. It’s also possible that he will go for the most money.
We’ll see how it plays out.

I don’t think we are too far behind the ring discussion. While I don’t think it’s going to be 2024; 2025 seems a legit possibility. I suppose Geno may end up being out only weakness if the right moves are made.
