Here's a link to the top 50 Free Agents as of Feb 6th according to ProFootballRumors.com.
There looks like a few IOL that could fit in a Kubiak Offense. I hope we sincerely try to sign at least one to take some pressure off of the draft.

Looks like Joey Bosa is suddenly available. 29 year old 5 time pro-bowler? ... we could certainly do worse than invest in some of that!

No kidding. There's a report that SF is looking at uniting him with his brother.

Joey seems to have injury problems. Not sure I want another injury problem D-lineman unless it's on a reclamation contract where they have to prove it.

Only $15 M guaranteed. That's a good deal for the team if his injury has fully healed.

According to the article above:
Seattle now has just over $68.4 million available for 2025

This is going to be a telling day.
Will JS be aggressive on the OL?
Will he sign Darnold or go for another QB?
Later this week will he look at the WRs that are on the market considering we only have JSN as an established starter.

I'm not too worried about the WR position. I'd like to see Bobo get more snaps, especially since it seems that we're going to be making a big effort to run the ball more than we have in the past. Bobo is an excellent blocker, much better than Lockett and Metcalf.

We need a WR to stretch the Defense otherwise they all play closer to the line.

According to PFT:
The Seahawks have come to terms with offensive lineman Josh Jones.
From The News Tribune:
The big (6-5, 339-pound) Jones has played every O-line position, on both sides, except center in his five NFL seasons. The first three of those years were with Arizona. The Cardinals drafted him in third round in 2020 out of the University of Houston.
Read more at:
https://www.thenewstribune.com/sports/n ... rylink=cpyProbably just a depth move - the new blocking scheme requires agile OL so it seems he might be out of place - unless they use him mostly for short yardage.

Here's an update on one of our competitors: SF will not contend again for a couple of years. They lost multiple starters today. Hofunga (sp?) Greenlaw and a couple of others. The player that Greenlaw replaced walked out on the team in the middle of a game.
I'm happy we resigned Ernest Jones IV to a 3 year extension. I thought he fit right into the middle of the D last year and was hoping he wasn't a rental. And he cost a little under what Bobby W signed for to re-up in DC. We also resigned Jarran Reed.

It's not Hawks FA news, but FA 2025 news nonetheless. The Jets signed Justin Fields to a 2-year deal:
The New York Jets have found Aaron Rodgers' replacement in free agency, as Justin Fields reportedly agreed to terms on a two-year pact to join the team, per multiple reports.
ESPN reports Fields and the Jets reached an agreement on a two-year pact worth $40 million, which includes $30 million guaranteed.https://www.foxnews.com/sports/justin-f ... cmp=tw_fncThe Jets were one of the potential landing spots for our old friend Russell Wilson. With the Steelers giving every indication that they're moving away from him, where does it leave Russ?

Fries goes to the Vikings for 5 years and 88 million. I'm not sure how I'd feel about the Hawks matching that number. He's good and was seemingly a perfect fit for the zone scheme, but that's a lot of years (and money) for a guy coming off a tibia injury. I really, really hope JS can pull some trade for a good guard, because I'm not happy just looking to the draft.

I guess we're looking to the draft to address our O-line, because we've got plenty of money and besides Fries there are still some good O-linemen available in FA like Mekhi Becton (Eagles), Cam Robinson (Vikings) and Kevin Zeitler (Lions). Any one of whom would be an upgrade on our line.

But do they fit the wide zone scheme? I have my doubts they are athletic enough to excel in that system.
Edit:
Zeitler might be someone JS would like as he's an older player who may be good for a year or two but isn't the player he once was and could come cheap. It's the way JS seems to roll with the IOL.

Just signed Marquez Valdes-Scantling to a 1 year $5M deal, he's kind of DK-light.

Kubiak has said he likes a true fullback in his Offense.
The 49ers have released Kyle Juczszyk, fullback who might fit the bill as he also is involved in the pass game.
They say the cut him for Cap reasons.

Another signing today. Ex DE Cowboy DeMarcus Lawrence. He is 32 years old now, I know his name but honestly don't know much about how he has performed in recent years.

The Jets signed the best remaining Center Josh Meyers and the best remaining Guard Kevin Zeitler went to the Titans.
It looks more and more like we are again going to bottom feed on the IOL although the Vikings Center from last year might become available as they signed Ryan Kelly.

He has been a good pass rusher and maybe we can get a couple of good years out of him but I expect he's going to be a rotational piece in MacDonald's Defense.
Edit: $18M guaranteed and $44M in total. Rich price for a 32 year old player - 33 in April.

The catcher? You sure that's not a M's contract accidently reported as a Hawks signing?

Cal's going two way playing for the Seahawks now? That should be fun.

Damn right, Cal is going to be play for the M's and the Hawks. LOL! I know it's a typo, but it would be funny if some lower level employee of the Hawks who makes the uniforms got this message and constructed a uni for Cal.
