How does this happen, and why would anyone think this would have been funny to do with possibly the most polarizing player in the draft? I know scouts/GM/player personal are speaking with players through out the draft, but to deliberately prank a high profile player like this is certainly sad. I am not a fan of Shedeur Sanders, but this is a new low and I am not sure the NFL would punish the Falcons for this.

Not knowing much about Sheduer, if it were me, it would suck having to grow up in his father's shadow, a player who was about as polarizing as they come. Undoubtedly one of the reasons why Sheduer fell as far as he did was because teams didn't want to put up with all the hype. I sure as hell didn't want the Hawks to draft him due to the inevitable distractions that would result.

I get all that, but he doesn't deserve to be pranked, especially from the son of the Defensive Coordinator.

I read that the son of the DC is 21 years old, and if so (barring any mental development issues) he’s a real dickhead.

I'm in no way defending or justifying the prank call. I was just saying that the root cause of this was the fact that he's the son of a very famous and controversial former player and likely one of the reasons why he dropped so far in the draft as teams are reluctant to take on the publicity circus that would ensue.

Without a doubt.

Apparently there was more than just the hype surrounding Shedeur Saunders that was responsible for his dramatic fall in the draft:

“He torpedoed himself… his attitude off the field at the combine… his dad didn’t help him. ‘I don’t want this entitled person on my team,’” an NFL owner spat at Boomer Esiason. Ouch. The league’s suits had spoken: Talent ain’t enough if your swagger smells like entitlement. And just like that, Sanders’s draft stock nosedived faster than a TikTok trend.

One anonymous coach groaned, “The worst formal interview I’ve ever been in… He’s so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks.” Translation: Dude brought a Lamborghini ego to a minivan league.

Perhaps the guy deserved to have the prank pulled on him.
