Some of you older posters may remember that I was talking up a young up n coming tennis player some years back.... Sloane Stephens, the daughter of a friend of mine. She won the US Open yesterday and we are over the moon about it! :D

Wow! I wondered if this was the one. I almost know someone who knows a national champion! I knew I would make it someday.

Seriously, Sista, I remember when you talked about her, but I didn't know she was beautiful too.

It is great for US tennis. Sista, you deserve a victory lap. Just one. Can't be complacent.

Thanks guys. It was so fun to see. It was especially fun after having dropped from 11th in the world to 935 or something due to injuries. She had surgery in January and was in a walking boot just 7 months ago. Fun times - in tennis at least.

Yes, it is, Largent. I heard Salk talking about her *father yesterday. Her biological dad was John Stephens - who was ROY a long time ago. He was killed in a single car crash in 2009... but Sloane barely knew him.

I don't remember that, Sis, but congrats anyway! You have to be excited as all get out. Wish I were there to celebrate with you.
