Immigrant Busing

This has become a sort of side discussion in other threads. Thus I decided to see how this works as I figured these governors could not just pick up immigrants from a detention facility and bus them around and could not force them on a bus at gun point. So how exactly does this work?

Apparently these bus trips are paid for by taxpayer dollars out of the general fund of states like Arizona, Florida, and Texas. The immigrants are asylum seekers located often in Texas or Arizona staying in facilities provided by the government or with volunteer families or a family connection.

The governor I guess has some government member offer bus tickets to another location away from the border offering them jobs or some kind of improved living condition to take the bus ride or flight to the new location. Apparently even these bus trips or flights cost thousands of taxpayer dollars to take. The states they go to are not receiving notification of their arrival to set up services in place, but quickly accommodate if the immigrants don't have family or associates in place when they arrive.

They don't seem to accomplish much other than moving the immigrants to another state. In the case of DeSantis, the immigrants he moved weren't even in Florida. Sounds like he wanted to hop on the political grandstanding bandwagon, so paid the cost for some immigrants from Texas to be moved to Martha's Vineyard under the pretense of going to jobs. It sounds like some of the immigrants appreciate the flights or bus rides because they never planned to stay in Texas to start with.

So this seems mostly political grandstanding and ones upsmanship that has little to no effect other than to transfer the cost of immigrant support to another state. The immigrants themselves are going voluntarily and often want to leave the poor border facilities they live in in Texas.

Like I've said for a while now, if the Republicans really wanted to stop immigration or slow it down rather than just use it as an issue to garner votes, they would go after the business owners using immigrant labor. Nothing would shut immigration down faster than huge fines for businesses that employ the hundreds of thousands to millions of undocumented immigrants entering the nation. But these Republicans receive money from the corporations hiring these folks and don't really care about immigration reform. To them they just love having a political issue to drum up some votes and pretend they're doing something about it.

Same as Democrats using the corporate tax issue for votes while the majority of Mega Tech corporations reside in Democratic run states getting huge tax breaks from Democratic State Senates and Governors who loving having the corporate "pay your fair share of taxes' rubbish for vote pandering.
