I won't likely participate much, but that doesn't mean others shouldn't have the option ... at the very least it'll help keep politics out of the general forum.

I voted yes as I don't see the harm in it, but I also don't see the harm in allowing a few OT threads in the main forum so long as they are properly identified in the thread title so those that don't want to participate don't have to enter. It's not as if it's going to clutter up the place. If and when it ever gets to the point where football related threads start getting pushed aside in lieu of the OT subjects, then I can see the justification for a separate forum.

This.

I don't think there will ever be so many that it should warrant its own forum. Just letting friends/acquaintances argue about non-football things once in a (long) while seems reasonable enough to me...

As I said here http://www.hawkshack.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4, I think a general OT forum would be the best bet. We'll let the poll run for a few more days - whatever you vote on, you shall have.

You should redo the poll bud.

If the choice were a general OT forum vs a Political forum I definitely would have gone for the OT forum (which I would use). The political topics would do fine there, and unlike Dog, I'd prefer to keep OT/political topics separate from the main forum. Help keep more football topics on the main page longer.

I see how the issue has developed. I agree. Time for a new poll! Click here: http://www.hawkshack.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=86
