I need to be talked into going to a movie. I hate showing up at the time the movie is supposed to start then sit and get bombarded by 20 minutes of commercials and previews. It used to be that you were treated to a serial or cartoon, but now it's all geared towards selling you something.

Last December, the wife and I went to Hacksaw Ridge, a pretty decent war movie, and the big selling point was the reclining chairs and beer sales at a new movie theatre. Otherwise, I'd rather have waited 6-8 months and see it when it comes out on PPV.

I've read all the books and now after all these years.

This looks cool.

Queensgate's the bomb. I like the pre-assigned seating, too.

Reviews are in for Valerian.....https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/valeri ... d_planets/

I'm torn on seeing it. If I do it will be IMAX 3-D.

I tend not to read reviews until after I've seen a show. I know, that way all I'm exposing myself to are the trailers, which are advertising for the movie, but I think I've got that particular grain of salt mastered, reading reviews ahead of time maybe not so much ...

I like to read the reviews, most of which I laugh at like the ones for Transformer movies where people complain about character development..Hahahaha, it's a Michael Bay movie you idiots. It's eye candy.

That's what I see with this movie as well, and I will most likely go just for the visual experience.

I remember reading the early reviews of Star Wars and thinking it must be crap. Then I saw the show and thought this isn't half bad. It was 2 hours of escapement from the pressures of life which is what we often want when going to the movies.

I saw Valerian. These types of movies are strictly eye candy, and the leads are hard to buy into, but the visuals are stunning and worth seeing just for that if you choose 3-D.
