Next opponent; N.Y.GIANTS

Postby Seahawks4Ever » Mon Oct 16, 2017 3:28 am

The Giants were going to be a dangerous opponent before they shocked the Broncos in Denver, I hope no one had already put this one into the Hawks win column. I heard on either FOX Sports or CBS Sports that the OC for the Giants had revamped the make up of their O-Line (due to injuries) and seriously "tweeked" their playbook, it certainly looks like it worked. I sure wish we had an OC that was that good, oh well, I guess we are stuck with DB because Pete will NEVER fire him or even let him know that he had better "up his game" or be shown the door .

That said, I believe we still have an excellent chance of beating these guys if we can keep the pressure on Eli and force him in to making mistakes. Our defense is still one of the best in the NFL, but they can't do it by themselves.

Wilson will have to bring his "A" game and that means that sometimes the best thing, the ONLY thing to do is EAT THE BALL. But, if he can get in to a rythym and the blocking holds up we should be able to move the ball on those guys.

P.S. Anybody giving odds on whether Walsh is our PK next season??

It's like a home game for us. We beat the Vagiants on their own field in a shutout, then returned and mauled Denver for the Lombardi on that field.

Last night was shocking. I had written off the Giants, felt that they were the odd man out in a strong NFC East and had chalked this one up in the win column. Now I'm not so sure.

Short week for them, coming off a bye for us, I say WIN!

This should be a win. Eli hasn't put up a very good record against us, it's not the dreaded early start, our long flight to the east coast is mitigated somewhat by the bye week...but nevertheless, I'm nervous. The Giants are one of the worst defenses in the league, currently ranked 26th, but our offense can make the worst defenses look like the Steel Curtain.

Joekel is out for several weeks. EEK. Blowinski, and Pocic are replacements. I personally have seen enough of Blowinski, he BLOWS. Please put the rookie in.

If neither Blow or Pocic can do the job then we might end up moving Rees inside to the guard slot and playing Tobin at LT. That is an option also. I am thinking it might be a good option, too. I hate seeing Rees moving only for a short period but if it keeps RW upright long enough to complete one of Bevell's complex route plays, then so be it.

I was just going over the injury report from yesterday and saw this:

John Jerry C Tooth DNP

Really! A tooth? What the.... I didn't even know you could list a tooth as a problem but I guess you can.

Also, I'm struck by how many of our guys still are injured after the bye week. Of special note is 4 of our DEs and 3 of our DBs were DNP. (ET was not injury related and I think Bennett is just taking a day off).

Bennett has a Plantar Fascia issue that will probably bother him all year.

Carroll is 3-1 after byes in the Wilson era. The lone exception was a 39-31 loss to AZ in Seattle in 2015, a game I attended.

I don't have a clue about Sunday. Obviously the Hawks have matched up well with Manning the last 5 dreadful years of his career. A lack of pressure may hurt but Im not sure Clark is a drop-off from Cliff and Bennett's foot may be the deciding factor. The offense has shown flickers of life. Seattle will be a huge favorite in Vegas and I think they get it done.
Denver was the team sitting fat reading their press clippings. Seattle surely watched the film and smelled the coffee...

Im glad NY won honestly. A winless team is the most dangerous of wounded animal but its like their old coach said "you are who your record says you are".
Bad team, bad coach unless they found the most amazing replacements ever with all the injuries.
27-13 Big Blue.
Then home for the superstar Watson and the surprising Texans. My buddy and I will be there!!!!

No kidding. He sure seems like he's pissed off at the world. It's a great thing when you can keep that kind of emotion limited strictly to the football field.

Bennett needs to focus his piss off at the NYG. The Plantar faciitis should make him mad. George Brett had it once I heard from my Dr that it was cured when he slid hard into 2nd base. LOL

yes mr bennett do your job or go off and buy a shoe store

In my opinion, the beginning of the end for a player is when they think more about outside stuff than they do about football.

When the stars on our team were rookies or on their first contracts, they thought about football all the time. Now, they have family, kids, causes, long term health, congressional letters to write and so much more. It may be time to get new players who want to concentrate on football and not on all the other stuff.

What happened for NY to beat Denver was that they went back to the drawing board after losing both starting WR's. They opened up their running game by using the TE's. There was no tape for the Broncos to look at of this revamped offense, however, Seattle has a whole game of it to view. Hawks are going to win handily and are 4-0 on that field.

It sounds like the NYG have have problems with TE's making plays on them. That will mean Bevell will not target JG.

According to an article in PFT, the Seahawks are going to rotate both Glowinski and Pocic at LG today.
Maybe one of them will be solid enough to get a bit of a run game going and settle that position for the future.
