Interesting. I had assumed that it was due to a SNF game being flexed, but it seems more complicated than that. I also got a chuckle out of a little jab at us:

That gives more people a chance to see a great defense (and also the Seahawks), and allows FOX the opportunity to hide a game (Cowboys-Giants) that seemed like a much better idea in April.

Hehe- I hope we take it personally.

Also, there's no reason why they can't do this with *all* games- they don't have to force WC teams to play at 10am local.

There is a reason, and it has to do with money. But if the west coast teams put up the same stink about travel to the east coast as the east coast teams did about traveling to the west coast, it's certainly do-able.

River, then why am I more jet lagged coming home from the East Coast than going to it??

Because you gain 3 hours coming back, so when it's 10:00 pm and time for bed on the east coast, it's 7:00 pm and time for your first glass of wine on the west coast.

I'm dog tired going east as I have to get up 3 hours early.
For me it's like getting up at 3am and everything is out of sync, but coming home I get to settle in before getting back to a routine and am a lot readier to take on the days challenges.

Yeah, in my experience, traveling back east is a nightmare, at least if I have to be on a schedule. I feel like I'm in a haze for a week.

In all my travels to Thailand, going there is a pain (just from the length of travel time) but after getting there I'm good to go for a day or so until the 15 hour time difference kicks in.

Going back to the USA is a different animal altogether. Serious time to re-integrate back to this time zone, so going East is much harder than going west.

I guess since I'm such an early riser and tend to travel in the mornings on the way out and in the evenings on the way back, I notice the change of time more coming home than I do on my outbound flights.

That's also one of the arguments against west coast teams playing in the early games in the ETZ.

Interesting that you travel to Thailand often, Largent80. I grew up there during the vietnam war era, & go back every year. I have 3 brothers who live there. I find that Adjusting to jet lag coming west is more difficult than going east, but that may be because I love Thailand & her people so much, & I'm so excited everytime I go there!

If I am traveling for pleasure, the going is easier than the coming home irrespective of direction. I think I may like vacation. If it is work related and I have to get up at 3:00 am my time, I am pretty tired.
