A note to all you BMW drivers

Postby The POPE » Mon Jul 30, 2018 11:00 pm

Just decided to check in and see what’s happening in the shack. My God people we haven’t even made it through the 1st week of training camp and and a good portion of the forum has condemned the Hawks and Pete to the fires of hell. Change a little hard to take? Wholesale changes in coaching staff and to a little lesser degree players is what some people pleaded for last year. Well here ya go.
Please park the BMW also known as Bithching, Moaning, and Whining and give this a chance. Maybe we will be surprised, maybe not. If negativity is your thing then keep on driving that BMW. I prefer the popemobile, runs on faith and positive energy.

The Pope has left the building.

Hey, Pontiff, great to see you! And once again, you have provided us with some insightful, divine wisdom regarding our approach to this season.

Next time, no more hit and run in your Popemobile. Park it and stay around for a cup of coffiee...or Holy water.

Thanks River, coffee sounds pretty good, but mostly what I see in here is way too much Whine consumption. It’s a proven fact that too much consumption of the bad spirits leads to depression. What I’m seeing here is deep dark depression and excessive misery from some posters. There aren’t too many hawk fans at the Vatican, so I got to check in once in a while to get a feel for the mood of the fan base. So far, no bueno. Looks like hawk fans forgot what suffering is after all the recent success. Keep the faith y’all, it ain’t over till the fat nun sings.

It's probably in part a result of so much success the past 7 or so years and the expectation that it could continue forever.
The NFL isn't like that and rebuilds/resets are a fact for most or all teams.
We'll just have to wait to see how this turns out.

I haven't seen a lot of that, more like some accepting the near future is likely something we've experienced before. That imho isn't whining, but simply accepting the near future going to be more similar to the 7-9 type teams than the 13-3 ones.

That's kinda where I'm at. I support what Pete's doing, so I can't see myself as a whiner or bellyacher. My 7-9 forecast isn't complaining, it's simply a realistic assessment based on the quality of our team vs. that of our opponents.

The other component of my prediction is that over the years I have learned to moderate my expectations. That way, I don't get so bummed out when we lose and get more excited when we win. It helps me maximize my enjoyment of the game. It doesn't mean that I'm any less of a Seahawk fan than those that are constantly predicting 19-0 seasons.

Sup, shackers? Hope you are all doing well. We are in what feels like the middle of a 9 million day stretch of 100++ degree weather with horrible air due to multiple fires. Maybe the Pope can say a few words and get beelzebub to lay off for a day or two?? I’M HOT ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!

Who knows what this year will bring? I’m oprimisistic for the season and at the same time I can realistically see that the Hawks have some big shoes to fill. (I sure hope ADB’s knee thing isn’t too serious & we don’t have to fill his shoes too!) personally, I’m ok w/ the non injury related shifts. I’d like to see us move on from players that don’t want to be here and get some fatties in return (though I’d love a shift in attitude just as much). Cheers to the 2018 season. Stay cool, fellars.

Hey Sis! Happy to hear from you, glad you're surviving the smoke! I hear ya about the heat (though we've finally gotten some relief down here) I'd sure love to send some of this humidity your way ...

Hiya, Bob! I hear ya that our dry heat is easier managed than your swampy moist heat. I’ve been in that stuff and it is unbearable.
