2019 Hawks Schedule

Postby RiverDog » Sun Dec 30, 2018 9:23 am

Since our finish in the NFC West is known and the corresponding finishers in the NFC North and East are finalized, our 2019 schedule is set.

Home: Rams, Niners, Cards, Bengals, Bucs, Ravens, Saints, and Vikings.

Away: Rams, Niners, Cards, Browns, Steelers, Falcons, Panthers, and Eagles.

Specific dates will be determined in mid to late April. Possible road trips on the radar for me and my traveling partners include Chitsburg, Cleveland, and Atlanta.

Yeah hopefully boy genius and his wimp airhead surfer boy QB can win a playoff game this year instead of getting stomped at home like last year. :D :D :D Oh gotta beat the 9ers first. Good luck with that Rambutt.

Initially, I was questioning your trip choices River of all three locations. Then I thought about it and I think you would definitely benefit from the Cleveland trip if you go early enough to see the Rock N Roll hall of fame and maybe rent a car and sneak down to Canton for the NFL HOF. You could make the trip to Canton from Pittsburgh but I just simply hate that city and how dreary it is. 3 Rivers stadium is kinda cool but that's all there is in Pitts. Philly could be a lot of fun if you like History. You could see the liberty bell and freedom hall, etc. Just stay away from Camden, NJ (Just over the bridge from philly).

For the most part, it's IG's call as he has a goal of seeing the Hawks in every NFL stadium, not to mention that he actually has to work for a living :D . Since under the current scheduling format we play at AFC home stadiums just once every 8 years, Cleveland is on the radar.

I've already been to Canton, but not the Rock 'n Roll HOF.

Three Rivers Stadium was blown up over a decade ago. The Steelers play in Heinz Field, the Pirates in PNC Park. If we go there in September, we might be able to kill two birds with one stone. U of Pittsburgh plays their home games at Heinz Field as well. Lots of possibilities even for a place like Chitsburg. IG's current work assignment has him in WV and flies in and out of PIT regularly.

My only requirement that we don't go to a northern tier city during the last 6 weeks of the season unless they're playing in a dome, but since divisional games are generally clustered in the last part of the season, that condition rarely comes into play.

I'll keep in mind what you've said about Camden. Thanks for the tips!

LOL,
"three rivers stadium"
. Sometimes you have to laugh at yourself, right? I remember when I used to travel the east coast on a regular basis and going to 3 Rivers. That was in the late 80's and early 90's. I guess I was just picturing the scene the last time I saw it instead of remembering that they have Heinz field now. :D

Yea, I didn't want to rub your nose in it as I'm just as bad. The other night, I was watching Oklahoma/Alabama and had to look up Hard Rock Stadium, wondering if it was a new venue I hadn't heard about as I didn't even recognize the structure.
