Need Tickets for This Weekend's Game

Postby idhawkman » Wed Jan 02, 2019 7:42 pm

I just so happen to be flying into Dallas' Love Field on Saturday at 1:15pm Central and thought if I could find some tickets I'd try and go to the game. Anyone have tickets or are any of you all going?

Yesterday I had a Facebook from a high school classmate, part of a Seahawk booster club in Oklahoma that asked me if I was going to the game. Let me send him an IM and I'll see if he has access to tickets. How many tickets are you looking for?

Right now it is just me but I'll see if my nephew can go, too. If he can, he'll be looking for the cheaper seats since he's on a fixed income.

I got a response. Here's a copy and paste:

Yes have him go to TASH, Tornado alley seahawkers, look them up on Facebook or Austinseahawkers@gmail.com

Here's a follow-up message from him:

Hopefully it's not to late if so there will be a huge tailgate in lot 11 the day of the game and a seahawkers takeover at Humperdinks Friday night and another one Saturday night

Just to clarify, they are Hawks fans right? Also, since the game is at 7:15pm Central it will probably go late and then traffic getting out of there. They may not have a Sat. night meetup after the game will they? Or is it before the game?

All I know is the copy and paste I provided from the Facebook message I just received. Yes, they're Hawk fans. My friend is from my high school graduating class, Walla Walla '73.

...and I'm off to the game. Can't believe how many tickets are still available. Can't wait to meet many more fans in the OK, TX area.

Well it was a pretty good experience considering. I accidentaly got stuck in the event staff parking lot so I got away with not paying for parking and that was the most positive thing I could say.

The tailgate party River introduced me to a bunch of his friends were having was about 3 miles away from the event staff parking and it was a good walk for me. I got a soda, hotdog, bag of chips and a piece of cake for $5 donation and it was the only thing I had eaten all day.

Jerry's world is enormous and fitting of the pompous ass that Jerry is. The decible meter never went above 104 in there and didn't seem very loud. Of course there were many empty seats throughout the stadium, too.

The game itself was interesting but what kept striking me as odd is the nonchalant way RW played the first 3 quarters. I really would like to see him hustle on and off the field better as it sets a tone for the other players. I'm truly convinced that he has ice in his veins in the 4th quarter because by then he has warmed up and so has what ever in his veins. I have no idea what is in there before the 4th quarter.

The Cowboy fans jeered us a bit but overall they were respectful and not that big of a nuisance. Getting out of Jerry's world was a nightmare but I didn't mind the traffic as much as the radio stations going on and on about the win. I think every station on the scan dial was post game coverage.

You could tell the Cowboys wanted it more before the game in the pep huddle. I like the Boise State kids on Dallas' team but I didn't want them to do quite as well as they did. (Tyrone Crawford, Demarcus Lawrence and Layton Vander Esch)

Oh, got my ticket for only $50 since it was just before game time, too. So I wasn't out a lot of cash at all.

Good report! I've never been to Dallas but I've heard that Jerry Jones' monument to himself is pretty much like you described it, a big cave that absorbs voices rather than amplify them like our digs has a tendoncy to do. Interesting about the cost of your ticket. I guess with just one week's notice that people don't have a lot of time to plan and the secondary vendors aren't able to get any action. Another thing I've never done is attend an NFL playoff game.

I wish they would have opened that top up for the game. inside that place they had a small cloud forming along the top concourse from all the people breathing in that place. They should have let that crap out of there.

I've been to games in Glendale on numerous occasions where they have a retractable roof, all in November or later, and they always have the roof closed even though the ambient weather is absouletly perfect. When I asked one of the locals why the roof was closed on such a nice day, he said that he thought that glare had something to do with it, but I've been to night games where they've had it closed when it's calm with temps in the 50's-60's.

Thanks PF.

Yeah River, it was in the 70s that day and the sun had faded by kickoff so they really should have opened it. I think Jerry was nervous about the game and didn't want "GOD" to see his Cowboys lose. IN hindsight, he probably regrets that decision. :D
