What still doesn't add up to me was that the RAM's coaching staff said his sparing use in the playoffs was not due to a physical problem.

It doesn't explain his apparent lack of motivation, either.

Having been diagnosed with it myself, osteoarthritis, which is what I assume is the type that Gurley has, isn't a particularly difficult diagnosis to obtain and can be determined by Xrarys, which you'd assume they would have taken back when he first injured his knee.

It's a pretty curious situation, to say the least.

Well, it would seem to spell a short career for Gurley in any case.

The Rams found a very capable replacement I will say but this isn't good for Rams land for sure.

Anderson is 28, Gurley 24, and Gurley is a dual threat whereas Anderson is pretty much a between the tackles runner. Anderson is not going to be the long term answer for them if Gurley can't go. Even Rambo would have a difficult time painting a smiley face on this situation.

Shouldn't he have been on some type of illness/injury report with this condition or are chronic
issues not within the scope of the weekly reports?

Good question. There are still a lot of unanswered ones surrounding this.

Anybody know what his injury history was at Georgia?

Yup. He tore his ACL in his left knee, the same one he's had trouble with last fall, during his final season at Georgia. He also missed 3 games due to injuries in his previous year, but I don't know what kind of injuries. Apparently they're considering stem cell treatment if his rehab doesn't go well.

The article raises the same question we've been talking about, ie if the Rams were not being honest regarding Gurley's injury:

Both the Los Angeles Rams and Todd Gurley insisted his knee was healthy entering Super Bowl LIII. All signs since then suggest that status changed during the game against the New England Patriots -- or simply wasn't true to begin with.

And just a FYI, CJ Anderson is a UFA, and the Rams likely won't have a good handle on Gurley's status before training camp.
