Hawks Trade for Pats Tight End

Postby RiverDog » Tue Apr 30, 2019 5:05 am

Just two days after the conclusion of the NFL draft, the Seahawks are at it again. Seattle has agreed to trade a 2020 draft pick to the New England Patriots for tight end Jacob Hollister, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

It's pretty low risk, a conditional 7th rounder. IMO he's most likely training camp fodder as I can hardly believe that after losing Gronk to retirement that the Pats would give up anyone decent for a mere 7th rounder.

Probably right, RD. But if he sticks, we will now have lost our 6th and 7th picks next year.
This is a disaster! We only have 9 picks remaining.

You have to message Sis and get approval for using her "this is a disaster" phrase. I think she has a patent on it.

You guys are funny.

Actually, I think you are right Riv. that he might be TC fodder. We all know our TE from last year was banged up and may take a while to work back into things. His progress may have hit a snag and it will be a little more time needed or something. That said, I look at it as if it is a silver lining. "IF" he couldn't make it back from that injury, we would be going after someone more valuable than a 7th round pick. Additionally, that might put a chip on the young man's shoulder and get him to out perform and make the 53 roster. Good all around.

We have 5 TE's on the roster now and Dissly might not be ready until part way through the season depending
on how well his recovery does. In any event I'm sure he will be limited in action throughout TC and pre-season.
It wouldn't surprise me if we signed another before the season begins. There are cuts yet to be made.
