Schneider possibly leaving for Detroit?

An article on PFT suggests the Lions are going to go after John Schneider.
They can do that because he doesn't have final say over the roster - Pete does.

And the update to that speculation is that it may be incorrect, differentiating between the "final authority" that Pete has over the roster and the "primary authority" that John has. The NFL requirement the original article is predicated upon is primary, not final.

That puts a wrench into the gears, I suppose.
I wonder if he really wants to go and take on that challenge, how much compensation could the Seahawks get (I'm thinking draft picks).

The only reason John would do this is ego. Kind of like Billacheat and Brady. Who is more responsible for the successes last 11 years? Looks to me like it's both. Why go to a dumpster fire in Detroit? Does he want to be the GM trying to get them to their first SB? If its a money or length of deal issue that shouldn't be a problem with the allen trust fund. As for having complete control over personal and hiring what coach wants to do that? Be outvoted on who his QB will be, his mike LB? His coaching staff? What GM does not want input form his coach?and as the article states they may have to surrender draft picks etc to get him assuming he even wants to go. Doesn't make sense.

We heard something similar regarding GB a few years ago. Pete and a John have a great relationship. No way he goes to Detroit. Who would want to?? Give me some good ownership then....
