They really missed Zach this year. He was a key figure in this offense with his great blocking and catching skills. He wasn't utilized as much in the passing game as some would have liked, but that's how our offense was run. He never complained, and did his job well.

Willson showed some signs of progress this year obviously, but not sure if he is ready to become the full time #1 without some serious competition. I would expect they go after a TE. J. Thomas and Jordan Cameron are out there, but will probably be too expensive.

I'd rather have J Thomas than Suh. Dude is a stud.

Yea, that's probably what this (Miller's release) means. I've heard a lot of talk about both of those players, too, especially Cameron.

It's too bad Miller couldn't stay healthy. I really liked him, he was a solid blocker and a great pass catcher, made some truly acrobatic catches for us. He was Russell's security blanket. But I understand why they had to let him walk.

So would I.
If we were to go after any one big name free agent, and therefore, spend the big time money it would take to land him, then I would hope it was Julius Thomas (though he's a LOUSY blocker!), because of his red zone abilities.
Giving Wilson more legitimate weapons will only help the offense, where the defense really doesn't need that kind of help.

He had repeated & significant injury to that foot/ankle. He was such a great team guy- always underrated. He stayed home and blocked his ass off for this team after pro bowl years in Oakland. I have nothing but thanks, respect and good wishes for the guy.

If I were a betting person, I'd say both Julius and Jordan come to Seattle and the latter ends up signing. But that's just a guess.

Zach will be remembered as one the best Tight ends to ever play for the Seahawks. Also as a key member of the greatest Super Bowl team of all time.

He certainly be missed, but who knows in this game - he may end up here again before he retires.
Moeaki was let go because of injuries, but he became an addition because of need. It could happen here again.

I have concerns about Jordan and his history of concussions. I like his talent and what he can bring but the head injuries are a big concern for me.

Hope the ring takes out the sting of this release a little for him.

I hear you about the concussion trouble. I think Julius will command more than we are willing to pay... We shall see.

At first I wondered why the Seahawks would simply release a guy like Zach Miller, until I read about the failed physical. Anyone know what his cap hit would've been? I think he was on the tail end of a long term contract, & typically, those deals are back loaded, making it tough on mgmt to keep him, especially in view of the fact that he had nagging injuries. I'll always remember him as a team guy who possessed incredible catching & blocking skills. Best of luck Zach, you will be missed.

I think cap hit was 3.5 million. Many expect Me and to restructure or be next. He's got a 5+million hit this year.

The more I read, the more I think the Hawks favor Cameron to Thomas... We shal see. So far I'm batting a thousand. Mosquitos that is. Early spring.
