A 3 or a 4? IMO that's a bit of an exaggeration. If we were to apply that scale to number of receptions, Graham would have to have about 150 receptions.

But I do agree with the premise that Graham has the potential to be the biggest receiving weapon that Russell has had since he's been here.

No...no it's not really an exaggeration at all.
I'd put it exactly that way too. Zack was a slow footed though sure handed primarily blocking TE, a 3 or 4 compared to Graham.
Sidney Rice was also slow footed, (for a WR) also sure handed, and was normally hurt and not even playing.

Graham is a guy who LITERALLY changes the way defenses try to stop you, neither Rice nor Miller even APPROACH that!
Night and day difference.

BINGO! Max has to come from Hawaii and wont take his physical till next Monday. After hearing Grahams comments I'm stoked. But after all the condemnation around the league one wonders if the Saints will find a reason to get out of the deal by flunking Unger for some nefarious reason. They wouldn't would they?
I'm sweating it....

I'm not sweating it at all.
It would be nice to get a proven player like Graham, but there are a few very tall WRs in the draft and a couple of TEs that should be there who are big and can actually block too.
They might not be Graham as a proven player and matchup nightmare, but they could be an additional threat for Wilson.
Whatever happens, it will work out in the end.

It would be a complete cluster for both teams if the trade were nixed IMO. But who knows? I'm a 55 year old guy who has been a fan since grade school and I have never seen an off season like this one in the FA era.
I have to quibble with your statement a bit though. I dont think there will be a Jimmy Graham sitting around at #62. I do agree its worked out pretty damn good the last 2 years.

We'd be picking at 31 if the trade is voided because of a failed physical (get our #1 back).

Excellent point. It would still be a real mess for both teams IMO.

I heard Clayton say the deal is in the books. It's done and over and cap adjustments for each team have been accounted. Is this not true?

I heard the same from Clayton. Not to call deny his mastery of all things NFL, but until Unger passes his physical the deal is not official. I'm sure they are all assuming/hoping he passes, but the physical needs to be complete for the trade to process per league rules. Not sure why he said that with so much conviction...
Regardless, awesome trade and the future looks awesome!

The Tacoma News Tribune Blog also announced, via our own Paul Allen's Tweet that the trade is official.

WELCOME TO THE GREAT NORTHWEST, MR. JIMMY GRAHAM.

May you go into the HOF as a Seahawk, with a couple of rings more. ( I'm still pissed about Randy Johnson, but I guess that's for some other place)
