So What About Michael?

Postby RiverDog » Sat Aug 15, 2015 9:07 am

I didn't watch the game last night, at least not yet. But I'm picking up some varying comments about his performance last night and would appreciate hearing takes from some of you guys.

What'd ya think?

One step forward and two steps back. He will be feeling the pressure now more than ever that he needs to be 100% on during a 100% of the plays in order to make the team this season.

Michael will not be granted a pass any longer for his lapses in play and assignments.

Beast and Turbo are our backs, Chris is fighting with Rawls for his roster spot.

Personally, I felt Smith ( #45 ) had a better game overall, I don't think it is just Rawls Michaels will have to hold off.

Does Rawls or Smith play on special teams? I know Michael doesn't play on them, or at least not very often.

Michael had a good block on a LB coming up the middle so that shows some progress, and he did flash some escape-ability when a defender was on him just after he got the handoff, but overall, he didn't show a lot more than last year. Poor OL play doesn't help when evaluating, either.

Rawls nickname is the "thumper". Yeah, I believe he plays on ST.

I know Smith does. CM is going to be cut and the money saved will be put into the KC fund.

Doubtful

He may be cut, but little to no significant money to be gleaned from the move for doing so.

I just got through watching the first quarter. Ugh. That offensive line is hard to watch. They need better communication between themselves and the quarterback, in particular, they need to start yelling "Lookout!"

You're right about Clark. He's lightning quick on that first step. He's going to be a nice fit into our rotation.

Lockett looks really good on KO returns, very elusive. He ain't no Robert Turbin. I want to see him return some punts, though. Hopefully he won't be returning more than 1 or 2 kickoffs per game. :)

Just got through watching the 2nd quarter, and you're right about Lockett. Great pick. If he doesn't catch a pass in the regular season and plays like he did Friday, then I'm satisfied. It's sure as hell better than watching Turbin and Walters return punts and kickoffs. Just hold onto the damn ball, though. One fumble at the wrong time could lay waste to our season.
