Bobby Wagner - Playing at a Pro Bowl Level?

Postby savvyman » Sun Jan 12, 2014 6:29 pm

Anyone else impressed with how Bobby has been playing the past five weeks? He has tackled everyone who has ventured into the 98101 zip code. Yesterday he was phenomenal.

Agreed! Bobby has been great. Let's hope it continues Sunday.

You can see how important he's been to this team all year, when you look at the blip in the Seahawks schedule where they allowed a bunch of rushing yards, and then realize that, those games perfectly overlap with when Bobby was hurt, and missed games, and then tried to come back too soon.
There's no doubt, Bobby is absolutely playing at a pro bowl level.

I have NO problem with anyone on the Defense, its like trying to pick apart an Oreo cookie its all good. The problem is our offense.

ProBowl? How about all-pro. He's right there with anyone else right now.

So what happened that he got that PF penalty on that botched fumble?

They never showed it on TV.

I believe it was because the refs think he overreacted to not getting the fumble recovery called. Called it "unsportsmanlike".

To the OP topic, yes, this guy is the real deal. When he's out, it is a whole different defense.

The USC penalty was the only fly in the ointment for Wagner in the second half of the season. He's one of the reasons why our run defense is much improved over the past few weeks.

But we gotta give props to some of our other guys on defense, like Mebane, Lane, and Thurmond. There are a lot of players on D that are stepping up big time.

Wagner was the reason some of Brees famous screens did not work.
Especially on 3rd down.
The dude played out of his body against the Saints.
And yeah, as RD mentioned there are others stepping up, on D as well. One guy no one has mentioned was Thurmond and how he broke up that pass to Colston, again on third down. I mean this defense has all sorts of heroes on it. They just come in and they play at a high level and are rotated throughout the game.

Amazing talent.
